The new D.S.E. A.I. is out! The Sentinel Kiosk is a top of the line A.I. designed to make Liberty a safer and better place! In cooperation with Kishiro Technologies, which has been designing A.I.s for Kusari, D.S.E. has created a new A.I. that is sure to dazzle Liberty with it's many functions.

"What functions" ya say? The Sentinel Kiosk can do practically everything! (No, it does not give you money or finish your paperwork....please stop asking.)

Besides providing information to civilians, the Sentinel Kiosk is located on a mining ship which has been heavily modified to provide many benefits such as:


*Ship Repair: Yes! the Sentinel Kiosk's mining arms have been refitted to repair ships! (notice: large ships cannot be serviced. Anything larger than a gunboat generally cannot be repaired by the Sentinel kiosk)

*Shopping & Dining: The majority of the mining ship has been converted into a mall that contains several popular shops and restaurants! Come and enjoy!

*General Relaxation: While you won't find 5 star faculties aboard the Sentinel Kiosk, there are plenty of attractions! Check out our space museum, with it's rare nomad technology, including the incredibly rare nomad power cell! Feeling bored? Take a dip into our pool. Want to experience space? Come to the zero-G room! And for the kids, there's even a tiny attraction center with several rides!

*Waste Disposal: Being an A.I. The Sentinel Kiosk is immune to radiation and nomad infection, making it perfect for disposal of hazardous materials! The ship is certified by ALG waste disposal! (And no, we did not sleep with any of them to get the certificate) Even better is the fact the Sentinel Kiosk can turn normal waste into useful objects, such as using scrap metal to repair ships!

*Safe Transport: In addition, the Sentinel also has a small bay designed to hold hazardous materials, such as nomads!

*Traffic Scanner: The Sentinel Kiosk is outfitted with 2, yes 2, high powered scanners that can scan incoming traffic. This information can then be relayed to any liberty officer nearby!

*Storm Indicator: In addition, the scanners can be used to detect ion and radiation storms! (note: this feature needs a wee bit of tinkering)

*Orbital Weapons Platform: The Sentinel Kiosk does not enforce Liberty laws, however, if any pirate/terrorist is endangering civilians, the Sentinel will open fire! BOOM BOOM BOOM! However, the Sentinel will not aid Liberty forces unless a specific order is put out requesting its help. However, while the Sentinel is equipped with a cruise disruptor, it is still only a weapons platform and it cannot help in chases.

*News Reporter: Wondering if there are any bloody pirates in the system? Ask the kiosk, and it will help!

*Research Facility: The Sentinel Kiosk now has a research facility built that specializes in nomad and artifact studies!

*Judge: The Sentinel is up to date on the latest Liberty laws! Have a question or debate? Ask the Judge, err...I mean the Sentinel

*Info: And of course, the Sentinel has a large database containing a huge amount of information! Ask away!


The Sentinel Kiosk is the new state of the art A.I. designed for the benefit of Liberty! Best of all, its FREE, yes that's right, it's FREE FREE FREE. (Just don't mind the extra 7.1% on your taxes this year, it's....um.....for the LSF....)

This is Norom Diputs of D.S.E. I'm responsible for this here A.I. and I have a few updates

Most importantly is this warning:

Do not attack the kiosk! Since the kiosk has been launched, there have been bounties placed on the kiosk. Any mercs who even decide to try to attack a kiosk designed for the benefit of liberty will find themselves a wanted man by the D.S.E.!

As of now, standard is a 500k bounty on anyone who attacks the kiosk. 1 milllion for increasing hostile intentions, 1.5 million if the kiosk is badly damaged and in need of dire repairs, and finally 3 million for destruction of the kiosk.

So please! Stop attacking it, becuase it's a real pain to build! Not to mention it is designed to help Liberty!

In addition due to some more renovation, a research center has been added. It is hoped that soon a Space museum can be constructed once D.S.E. engineers finish making the renovations to the mining bay that will become the museum and recreation center.


In addition Virus scanners have been reinforced after a run in with a hostile A.I.

While the Kiosk is immune to viruses transmitted by wireless connection, it is not immune to virus upload via a direct connection with the ship. The other day, this hostile A.I. managed to infect another A.I. and both launched an viral attack agaisnt the ship. While the ship's Anti-virus is capable of combating millions of viruses at one time, the flood of viruses from both ships was too much, and sadly, and civilians around Manhattan got a sight of the many fail safes we built into the ship to prevent sensitive data from being leaked.
Fail safe 1: Back up Anti-virus program activated
Fail safe 2: System shut down
Fail safe 3: If system is forcibly restarted, manual control is automatically given to crew members.
Fail safe 4: If crew is endangered, then fail safe 4 is activated: Expulsion of crew and passengers then a timed self destruction that can be overridden via D.S.E. command
Fail safe 5: Triggers a nuclear meltdown in the engines. Targets all nearby ships for potential firing targets
Fail safe 6: Grabs all nearby ships either by using gravity field generators or mooring ports and moves to a deserted location. A nuclear detonation is triggered while any ship cleared as innocent by D.S.E. command is shot away
Fail safe 7,8,9,10: Confidential information. Fail safes 7-9 are used in hostile takeover of the ship by bioforms. Fail safe 10 is M.A.D.

The other day, the hostile viruses took over the system and override both the main and backup anti-viral protections in place and rebooted the system when it shut down due to Fail safe 2. When manual control was activated, the hostile virus then proceeded to shut down life support. Luckily, the crew managed to get to the escape pods and eject out. Then the virus proceeded to shut down the self destruction Luckily, this fail safe can only be overridden by a passphrase used by D.S.E. When a nearby Merc, fearing for his life, suggest a passphrase, the kiosk's AI registered this as false pass and activated Fail safe 5. The virus then shut down the system. Upon booting, the virus realized that the Kiosk's current A.I. was too advanced and attempted to start up a basic A.I. embedded in the ship, codenamed BIOS. Fortunately, this also required a passphrase. When the merc once again submitted the wrong pass, fail safe 5 was reactivated. The virus once again shut down the system. At this time, the DSE had sent out a ship to see what was wrong. Upon seeing the shutdown, the DSE ship imputed the codes for startup before the virus could block the signal. The system started up, and seeing a DSE ship nearby, automatically formed a secure link with that ship and commenced a system wipe. The hostile A.I. seeing how it was defeated, ran, but was destroyed not far away.

The launch of the Sentinel kiosk was a success. Already, pilots have docked and experience the wonders of our facilities. Here are some pictures to show the new Kiosk in action

On a side note, live nomad specimens, including the rare superior and minor nomad brains have been removed from the museum due to naval complaints.
