Jack Morrows looked out the viewport of his office, reflecting over the events of the past weeks.
In a few weeks, he and his partners had managed to turn the fledgling Universal Exports into a small, but thriving company. During this time, they had constructed a base, started mining operations, and recruited more employees. Much of it was thanks to his partner, John Anderson, a capable, if somewhat overenthusiastic, businessman.
Also during the past weeks, Jack had personally negotiated deals with the Junker Marauders and the Outcasts, to ensure the safety of the company and its employees and assets.
But last night, a misunderstanding has resulted in an Outcast attack on the base. Luckily, they had just finished and activated their shield, and the Outcasts had been forced to abandon the siege, but it was still a shock. One he had not recovered entirely from.
His wife, Jenny, entered the office and put her arms around him.
"Are you alright, darling?" Her Bretonian accent shined through with ease. Jack nodded.
"Yes, thank you. Just a bit shocked, still." She nodded.
"I think we all are. What will you do now?"
"I have contacted the Outcasts in an attempt to clear up this misunderstanding. Hopefully, they will see reason."
"And if they do not?"
"They will."
