Hmm...and would you lads suggest pirating in a fighter, bomber, GB instead of Trans? Cause i heard that it goes worse if they don't wanna pay up and you blow em up.
Pirating in transport gives you option to sell the loot if target is uncooperative. CAU6 or higher PTrans can actually shoot down AU8 gunboats without much hassle.
Bombers are good, but if that is a well armoured transport, then you will have a hard time against it. Fighters dont really pose a threat to 5kers as well as any big transport in general, unless the transport is a newbie and you are an ace in fighters.
GBs make up for the lack of PvP. Solaris GB turrets were godly and made the GB invulnerable to any kind of ship classes. But with the recent heavy nerf on it, you will have to get some skill to beat a transport that is able to dodge your primaries. Best to have a missile turret or two in a well armoured GB to go in for pirating.
Transports are a great option, since your demand increases and you have sufficient reason to back up your high demands. Because you can take him down and loot his remains to sell them in a base yourself. Also, you can demand cargo, if he is unwilling to pay up or whines that he doesnt have money. In the case of transport piracy, best to go for Junker Transports, since you can pirate ore runners and intercept them in Border Worlds, and at the same time have access to majority of ore sell points so that you can sell the ore, if at all he manages to get himself destroyed.
What about pirating on liners? I remember, me and other Platinum| guys faced Bretonia Liner with cloak and decent armor, demaning free ore load. Also, I used to pirate few gold ore transports on a Prison Liner with Junker ID, but pretty long ago.
So, Liners still can give a challenge as a pirate's ride?
