Got one thought today, during trading, and....
Does trading factions, or so called corporations, affecting storyline in some way?

We have a military factions, they have military power, which comes from whom? From those, who produces ships, weapons, get supplies, fuel, and all stuff needed to keep ships and men alive. Even to move production units from space factory to shipyards, for assemble.

So, the activity of House's trading factions, or faction's trading activity (for single factions houses- Corsairs, Outcasts) could affect on faction's or house general progess and development.

House with active trading factions could actualy grove (not just adding one-two base system) but pretty developed system, with bases and may even with tradelanes, and expand their territories. Also, that would give another reason ppl to trade, and especialy inRP trade, not just money making.

So what do you think, trade factions and corporations should have impact on storyline or nope?

I would say very much yes. A bit biased, though.

Trade factions should have impact since, they are also affected by the governmental/military impacted storyline(the recent he3 embargo and more) and vice versa. But as far as I have seen and searched around for stuff here, trade factions have somewhat of a less impact on government statements that have an effect on the storyline.

Large Trade factions specific to their houses, or that deal large biddings to other houses, like DSE, Bowex, EFL, IC and all of those should have an effect because they're mainly supplying theirhouse and of that stops, their military wwon't have enough money or materials to build and repair ships. That's how i see it.

Obviously.

Look at the samura/kishiro government fiasco.

But remember that the storyline usually has very little to do with the PLAYER actions, wether military or trade. Its just about dev/story decisions.

It's very sad, because, imo, if playerbase would have greater influence on a storyline, then, players would have some kind of an interest to keep playing here. Those are my thought.

Lonely ghost has part of reason, as all of us would love to see how our ingame actions makes a difference. But now the bad part.... the mod itself is shared in many many servers... as such everybody who pkays in a server with the current mod will want to make its own too... just imagine, the devs needs lot of time to create the next step in the mod, now imagine to add every change how much would overload their job
