Greetings.

Angels are helpers for newbies, and Discovery's official language is English.
But there are people who's English is just enough to play and interact minimally, and they have trouble understanding explanations of rules and/or game mechanics, as it may be more complex than their basic English.
Here is my suggestion then: Angels could suffix their other spoken languages into their names, to help these people, and indicate they might be able to help them easier. Example:
[Angels]Name.<language1><language2><language3>

What is your opinioan on this?

Old suggestion we had before.

It might sound rough, but if one isn't able to properly speak/understand english he shouldn't play on an english server.
Them people don't stay very long anyways.

Sorry, did not know about that.

I'm talking about people who can interact in understandable English, but the wording of rules or guides or Wiki pages might be too complex for them to clearly understand.

In all fairness, it's presumed that we talk English. If we can't understand them, the Angels chat has people from all over the world that could help with a translation, or we could just ask an Angel to log if the Angel on the server can't understand them.

Its hard for players in English speaking servers. Not their fault, but still I have seen some people who have learnt language after coming on here. That is one pros of such servers, but it has its own negatives. Such are things that we have to regrettably put up with. I am not a native English speaker too, but I have improved my language, after coming here.

Though this might sound a good idea, it is not all the more feasible, since there are not many Angel tagged ships online anyways, and that, certain language speaking Angels might even be rarer.

Honestly, I think yes.

What's the harm? Judging by our server numbers, it certainly can't hurt us. The only thing it will do is give players who are not proficient in English a chance to talk to somebody on the server about the server instead of being removed from the server for a breach in rules or simply quitting because nobody could/would talk to them.

I would take a broken-English attempt at RP to a silent encounter and failed attempt at piracy. Roleplay is what we're after, isn't it?

Exact same story. I started to play on Discovery UK server, around two months, before my english exams, and improved my english pretty well. You just getting inside and language's enviroment. It's one of the best ways to learn and improve your skills in any language.

But still, Narcotic has his point. I remember, some players were breaking rules, and, when I tryed to explain them, they saying, that they don't completely understand all this stuff, so they just doing what they decided to do. Even worse, when players trying to abyss such situation, and saying that they have problems whith language, after being caught on violation.

And I can say that being in a server where every interaction is done in english, even people who do have a command on the language do learn lot from it.

Yeah, well, this is exactly why I launched this topic.
