Well when I first did it, it was because it seemed like a really cool feature that I wanted to try out - not just being able to dock and buy stuff from it but actually run it.

Then a few months in it became a nasty drag on my life that consumed waaaaay too much time so I just let the guy that was helping me run it take over.

It gave me something to put my mind to, as PvP doesn't really interest me. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy fights every now and then but doing it most of the time holds no interest to me. I am not one of those that logs from one fight to the next.

I spent a lot of time Trading so this made Trading different because I now had to make new Trade Routes that allowed profit making in making Bases, making items and supplying them.

It was a challenge.

I built my base because I was hoping to compete or create some kind of rp with platinum incorporated.

I failed to realize that Platinum Players were also in the LN though, and the idea of losing the platinum monopoly didn't sit well with some of them...so I asked for authorization and while I was waiting they said "oops, our bad yo". <----DatRP.

So I was like whatever, have fun being bored. How's Platinum doing these days anyways?

Because I disliked the concept from day one. It took a month or 3 to develop that into pure hate. Only some 3-4 months back I decided to build one to actually try and understand why I hate POB's. Note: my view hasn't changed on them, even after having built/(partially) owned one.

I still hate them. They're rubbish. I believe they've caused a lot of people to quit playing Disco, because of being burned out by making them and such. Note: not the sole reason for people leaving Disco.

So yeah.

You would have been able to build it if you had asked for permission first most likely.
None of us asked the LN to tell you not to. Well actually, one of my chars did find it and reported it to the LN - but that was an inrp message only, I don't think anything was said oorp.

Nobody forced them to build Bases. If everybody's likes and dislikes were the same it would be a rather boring World and Game.

Meh. It doesn't matter at this point. It was a year ago. The end result was boredom, at least for me.
