Ok, I have researched and considered the RP regarding Inverness for quite awhile. It seems to me that its one of the few systems in Disco that hasn't been completely sorted out. Some call it Junker, its listed as "independent/Junker", but its listed under Bretonian House laws. I'd like to pose the question: What type of system should Inverness be, Bretonian House or Independent/Junker?

I realize that the House Laws were made a while back, and haven't always been updated keenly. Considering the current RP, with Gallia owning systems on London's doorstep, it is dubious to consider that Bretonia could continue to defend and make claim to Inverness. In-RP it'd have nowhere near the Military capabilities to do anything out there. The original claim as a 'bordering world' makes sense, much like Kepler or Bering might be, but now it just seems over-reaching. No doubt now with the borders drawn up by Bretonia's war, and the location of Inverness between Cortez (independent-ish) and Newcastle (a conflicted border), that patrolling or protecting Inverness would be impossible really.
I do believe that the next logical step in-RP would be to have the Junkers purchase this system, aiding the Bretonian war effort, if not just handing it over outright.

I have made some basic attempts at this "purchase" in-RP, but it hasn't gone much of anywhere. I'll be frank, I have vested interests in Inverness, as a few of us operate stations out there. We've been using it to generate alot of new activity, especially for new Disco Pilots we've been meeting, and its just sittin' there and I dont think its going to be 'updated' otherwise. However I'm coming to the Community on this one because it seems incredibly clear to me that with our growing, evolving story RP, Inverness should not remain the way it is.

I would very much like to be contributing more to Disco by taking part in RP and administration out in Inverness. Therefore I am now just going to ask the community, in poll form, if they agree with this. I hope there can be some productive discussion, and then we can perhaps advance the RP story of Inverness.

I love Inverneess Smile I see it as an independent Junker system moreso than Bretonian House space. Plus with resources of the Armed Forces being diverted for war with Gallia I don't see them being able to hold any ground in Inverness, especially when GRN has pierced through to Magellan, Newcastle, and taken over Leeds. Give it to the Junkers!

I find your poll biased.

simple "independent" alike Coronado or Cortez would do just fine.

I see what you mean, a simple "independent" would indeed do. However, considering the only presence (stations, npcs, etc.) within Inverness is Junker, and that fact is even included in the system information, I added "Junker".

If it were to be simply labeled an "independent system" that would work too, the idea is regarding whether or not it should be owned as a Bretonian House Space, and therefore I just didn't want to seem coy by calling it an "indy system" when the reality it the majority of its use will come of Junker presence.

Thanks for constructive comments tho Big Grin I am really curious to see what people think

I feel that it already is a Junker system in the eyes of anyone who's spent any length of time there. My vote is to make it a Junker system through purchase.

I do believe that, other than your 2 POBs, Inverness is occupied by 1 NPC Junker Base (Invergordon) and 1 Battleship (Order).

Your 2 POBs were moved there when things changed in a previous update, which I believe happened last year. So it is not as though you have been there for the last few years and now the Bretonians have annexed your system.

As for the Independent Systems of Coronado and Cortez, Coronado has been claimed by the CR and Cortez is overseen by Liberty and Bretonia (both of whom have jurisdiction there). So you might find that the Junkers, in the future, will be given Inverness but it still might be under Bretonian jurisdiction.

I think we've had to go over this before, but if you have 2 PoBs in the system, it doesn't immediately make the system yours or even offer a chance to be yours.

Personally, I think it'd be good if it were merged into Independent Worlds or kept as is. Having it as an Independent World makes it fit in better with the surrounding systems, while keeping Bretonian saves anyone any issues.

From what I remember actually, Inverness was always more independent than under Bretonia. And the Atum was JUST moved there whereas the junker base has been there for as long as I remember. And as the only base in the system that has been there for that long, yeah - I view it as primarily as a Junker/independent system. If there was a Bretonian base in the system for that long, then I could see it makes sense to have it contested between Bretonia and Junkers. But having zero presence doesn't make much sense to own it, when another faction has more and done more RP in the system than others.

So again, leave it/make it fully indie and/or Junker

... Perhaps I should've left out the part with the POBs, of course owning POB's in a system doesnt entitle you to Ownership. The Junker station in Inverness however has been there longer than anything else, and frankly we should disregard the Player Bases as playing any role in why the Inverness system should be Junker, they are going to be there regardless of whether or not the system is owned by Junkers. They didn't have to be any part of this conversation beyond my mentioning why I have such a strong interest in the area, so my bad on that.

The reason I requested the two POB's moved to Inverness in the first place is because by all appearances and information it is/was a Junker system already, and it seemed to me that this was this a pretty "duh" moment when trying to find an appropriate place to settle down. The fact of the matter is that 95% of the traffic there is Junker, the stations are Junker, and the information is Junker.. Apparently however, despite being listed as "Independent" and only occupied by Junkers, the system is under Bretonian Flag. That is all I am referring to here, and need to have clarified. It's like having outdated wiki information, but in the game, and its screwing things up for RP.
