Mutliboxing is the act of running two or more instances of Freelancer from two different or the same PC in order to gain an unfair advantage over players. This is usually used in trading, where the player forms the other characters under his control and trades with a much larger cargo space than it would be possible with one character.
This is considered cheating on the Official Discovery Freelancer Server.
Trying to lie about your situation can lead to harsh sanctions, usually deleting the ships and money involved. If a player is caught multiboxing, usually very easy to spot due to ping similarities between characters, they undergo a ''multiboxing test'' where the admin requires the player to perfom different actions to confirm if there is one or multiple players behind the characters involved.
EDIT: If you have a brother or friend, who tends to play in the same house as you at the same time as you, it is highly advisable to contact the admin team in private and explain the situation before you try doing this.

How can you play 2 different characters on the one PC. every time I swap accounts I have to log off and then log on to another account.
Ive been sanctioned with my step-father. We play on the same modem but on different PC's...the Admin say we were multiboxing but they Bastilled some of my vessels which are on different accounts and Bastilled some of his vessels which I dont have access to. His accounts are not on my PC...they are on his
Sorry, but I will not explain how to multibox ships on the main server.
If you want to try and host your own server and test damage against ships, which would require you to run two Freelancer applications at the same time, simply go to your Discovery folder:
\Discovery Freelancer 4.87.0\EXE\flhook_plugins
And find the file named dsacesrv.cfg
In this file, find the following line
; Kick players that are logged in from 2 different accounts from the same
; computer.
MultiBoxKick=yes
And change it to
; Kick players that are logged in from 2 different accounts from the same
; computer.
MultiBoxKick=no
If you get caught for multiboxing on the main server, the sanction (deletion or bastilling) will be applied to most or all of your accounts in most cases.
