After 6 years or so on this server I have been reading so many different applications that now after reading two rows of application i can already tell whats gonna happen in the story.

Seriously 90% of all application stories are like this: I had a nice childhood with happy family (LN - father was in military, Pirates - father was a trader or something, Outcasts - father had a cardamine field ... and so on) next comes the spin off - father and mother got killed and i decided to change my life and now i am seeking revenge..

Seriusly stop writing about your families and stop killing your parents... Come with something new. And guys in recruitment, please decline such applications.

The [LN] instituted a "no orphans" policy a while back. Don't know if it still stands...

But yes, the "my father were kill by outcast scum, so I join navy for reveng" line got really tedious.

It might be interesting to analyse this phenomenon and its link to Disco's demographics.

Firstly, there is Hollywood influence.
Secondly, a lot of new people don't know how to make an app (or come here for pew and can't bother to think of a whole new story), so they read a few previous ones and copy them in a certain degree. Since the previous ones are infected with the mentioned problem, the problem persists.
Thirdly, there are few reasons to make a person willingly kill other persons, or risk being killed themselves, and the most obvious one is revenge of a killed family member.
There is one more reason why people are making such apps, that I can think of, but I might offend some people if I mentioned it, and (correctly) be considered a hypocrite.
