:: Welcome to the Ingenuus ::

The Mobile Research Facility: The Ingenuus was almost always bustling with energy as people walked down many of the winding corridors going about their business. Full of elaborate hallways, labs, studies, and even lounges over three hundred employees have both time to work, and rest to their hearts content. Constantly upgraded with new facilities as required does well to keep Finn McCool's wallet light as old devices are quickly replaced with newer ones to better accomplish the projects bustling around the interior.

While not being open to the public normally, there are a few visitors that tend to stop by when the faculties are moored for resupply.

Lounge Rogue. An ironic name almost, however they served some of the best drinks on the Ingenuus. This little corner tucked away in one end of the facility was a specific womans favorite bar and area merely to look out at the stars. While it had considerably less activity than some of the more popular areas, this one boasted a nice staff as well as a wonderful view to the outside space.

Rachel was sitting down in a booth, a single leg propped up as she was turned in her seat to look outside at the stars as they lazily floated past. The quiet purr of the engines grabbing parts of physics almost completely unused elsewhere to push the large vessel through the large void outside.

In her hand was a single glass filled with a clear liquid, probably water. Reaching over, she grabs a packet of sugar and empties the contents inside the water, swirling it around to dillute it. It was perhaps a bad habit, although she did like the taste. Alcohol came later, it was too early for some of that now.

Letting out a quiet yawn, she reaches back and frees her hair which she was sitting on slightly. Another trait of hers that was a little unnatural, she refused to cut it. Reaching all the way down to her thighs when she was standing, it was a constant pain to keep looking nice, however she always managed to have it in a presentable fashion whenever she got cleaned up for the day. All in all? A quirky woman.

Being kept around due to her mental prowess, Rachel did enjoy the time to unwind. While work was indeed fun, she didn't let it take over completely. While she was not the most sociable person out there (perhaps the reason she found a secluded area as a favorite) she did however enjoy the company of people who did approach her. The Ingenuus Research Group was both a workplace, and now a home for her. Funny how things worked out.

Swirling the liquid again, she takes a sip, falling into her own world. Zoning out slightly.

Lounge Rogue. Most likely the quietest of the bars and lounges on the Ingenuus, though not far from his Lab, Liam walked into the small establishment and nodded at the staff in greeting. He looked out through the big open window into empty space, the stars flying by as the vessel pushed itself through the void outside. He liked visiting the busy places just as much as this, getting to relax and not as much alcohol here as in the others though. It was a nice place. Liam was wearing a simple jumpsuit, black in color, the Ingenuus patch on his arm, his nametag on his chest, wearing boots. Usually what he wore in the Lab aswell, he wasn't a Labcoat man, unlike his father used to be. He enjoyed the freedom of movement without the coat, he thought it restricting.

Walking over to the bar, he ordered himself a mix drink with little alcohol. As the barkeep began to mix his drink, Liam turned and leaned against the bar as he observed the patrons that enjoyed this place of relaxation. In one of the booths sat Rachel, along. She seemed to be zoned off as she was staring out into the nothingness that flew by. Receiving his drink, he took a small sip of it before walking over to the booth that Rachel was sitting at, standing beside the booth as he stared outside much like she was.

"We spend all day in the labs and corridors that we miss the outside floating by. It's nice to spend a bit of time to see what we pass everyday and take it in like every man ever could."

He took the liberty of placing himself across from her, placing his glass down on the table as he leaned back against the cushion on the back of the seat, letting out a relaxed sigh.

Letting in a quick gasp, surprised by the man sneaking up on him. Breathing out slowly, she crosses her arms together, leaning back. "Sometimes it's easy to forget what position we are actually in. I can't imagine a world without space-travel, it seems so.. natural now. Yet the concept to a civilization just starting off, something like this is a tiny dream due to how complex the idea itself is."

"Don't get me wrong, i'm fond of the metal that we see in here, although there is still something about the silence of space that gets to you."

Pausing for a moment, chuckling to herself quietly. "I'm never this sentimental. I apologize."

Liam smiled as she gasped in shock that he'd snuck up on her, he took another small sip of his drink and let her finish before he began to speak himself..

"Neither can I, I was born out here, grew up out here and I'll probably die out here too, one way or another. I can't imagine how life in the past may have played out because I have no idea of how it could have been, not even a single imagination to it.

It's funny, in the past readings of well 'Home' - Earth, it was always thought that Earth held the only life in the universe. Look at us now, the whole sector bustling with life, Human and Alien. So much to explore, so much more to find.

Do not apologize, It is good to let your feelings go."

He leaned back his head on the cushion and closed his eyes as he breathes in and out softly, before focussing back on Rachel.

Eying the man in front of her for a few moments, letting out a quiet breath. "It's a drag, isn't it. Life that is. Things could be so much easier, yet here we are. Working on things which other people haven't ventured very far into themselves. Before, I hardly would have stayed around as long as I am now, i'm not too sure what's keeping me around. A temporary weakness I guess."

Stretching her arms slightly.

"The day I let go, is the day my world falls apart. It's sorta depressing to a degree."

He gave a small shurg as he listened to her, he smiled softly as he watched her.

"I'd like to think the good company keeps you here. I'd be a shame if you were to leave us now, that we've created.. well this. All of this around us. You, McCool, Me, the other scientists. We made this with out own bare hands.
If it will depress you, then do not let go. Stay with the group, and continue to work with us. "

He ordered himself another drink, and for her aswell.

Accepting the drink he ordered for her as well with a quiet thank you. Swirling the liquid around a little before taking a ship, sighing while shrugging slightly.

"Alright, alright.. I do enjoy what I do I suppose, no real rush to leave anyways. Not until the other two are ready to begin, hell that'd take months if not longer. Well then, how about you? What's keeping you around? The work? The hours? The drinks they serve? Everyone has a story. Stories are what I like hearing myself actually, i've been planning to bug you about it for a while now. McCool as well if he ever shows up."

He chuckled as he took a sip of the newly ordered drink, leaning back against the seat he was on, he laid his feet up.

"What's keeping me around is the work I do and the company I have here."

He smiled at her.

"I've been working in this field since I was little, and I love what I do. I feel like i can make a difference with my creations sometime in the future. I hope to do so, so bear my fathers Legacy, rest his soul. I was born on Freeport Nine and my mother grew ill not long after my birth, it took months, but in the end, she sadly passed away. I spent my childhood on the Cyzicus, at the time my fathers and now my ship, flying through the deep 'crons. My father worked on what I inherited, trying to gain a medical improvement out of Nomad materials gathered. I still work on that today, though not as much as I used to. I have a rather.. boring story really. What about you?"

He gazed out of the window at the passing void for a moment before returning his view to her.

Walking down the corridors, Finn marveled at how truly remarkable the Ingenuus was. Not only it's glossy walls and streamlined construction, but also the speed at which it was constructed. There were still sections of the ship that Finn has not encountered personally. It was an adventure just to walk around the Ingenuus.

After spending some time leaning against one of the windows in his room and looking into the void, he decided it was time for another drink. Making his way down to Lounge Rouge, he was definitely ready for some relaxation, away from the duties that seemed to pop up left and right. As he walked in, he eyed Rachel and Liam sitting at on of the tables on the lower floor.

Walking up to the bartender, he nodded for his attention. "3 Dublin Mules please. Copper cups as well lad!" As the bartender finished the drinks, he carried them down towards Rachel and Liam. "Evenin' you two. Hope I'm not interrupting?"
