After Hanna Richter made contact with Krüger Mineralien for a meeting with her CEO, director Mittermeier of Daumann Heavy Construction, Fred Schneider replied to the transmission on behalf of the Vorstand of Krüger Mineralien. After he had sent his last transmission, he forwarded his communications to Stellvertretender Vorsitzender Ulrich Schweighöfer to report. Upon receiving the report, Ulrich decided to meet with the Director Mittermeier in person. He asked Fred Schneider to accompany him to The Ring, a station near the orbit of Planet New Berlin. They departed along with a few personal bodyguards.

Once arrived at The Ring, the docking bays were full and there was a short queue for ships docking at the station. It took mere minutes for the personnel of The Ring to give Krüger delegation priority to moore. When in range the station docking operator tractored Krüger ship into a safe location on the station mooring bays. The doors opened and Ulrich was walking in front with Fred a bit behind him on his left side, the bodyguards followed right behind. Fred asked one of the Daumann personnel:

“Fraulein, we have an appointment with Director Mittermeier. Would you be so kind to inform him of our arrival?”

- Naturally. Please follow me to temporary guest quarters.
Awaiting them welcome delegation quickly showed the Krugers the way to inner parts of The Ring. Cautious Kruger bodyguards noticed the woman who answered Schneider informed about their arrival using datapad.

After few tortuous corridors and lift travel to the higher level, they were finally in gues quarters, where both delegations could sit down around the table, rest a while and order something to drink, if needed. A brief waiting passed quickly and silent clink of opening door gained everyone's attention. Daumann CEO with his assist walked into the hall, with warm, smiling faces.

- Kruger delegation, we're happy we can be your hosts today. Director Schweighöfer, how are you?
Mittermeier opened his hand in inviting gesture, waiting to shake Schweighöfer's.

*Ulrich Schweighöfer looked to Mittermeier with his gesture. He approached and shaked his hand.*

“It is an honour to be here herr Mittermeier, aber I am nur Ulrich Schweighöfer, the Stellvertretender Vorsitzender of Krüger Mineralien. Fred over here is my ratgeber”

*Fred Schneider came forward and shaked the hand of Mittermeier too.*

“It is a pleasure to meet you Director Mittermeier. I have heard from Herr Schneider over here that we would get some dinner here? I am curious what you chefs have prepared. It was a long trip and i am wondering how it will fit into the meeting you wanted to have. If the reports of Herr Schneider were accurate it would involve the Independent Miners Guild?”

Ratgeber Fred Schneider
Stellvertretender Vorsitzender Ulrich Schweighöfer

- Indeed, those little bugs will be the main subject of our discussion, although I'm sure we also have thing or two more to talk about. But let's not talk in a mere guest room, please, follow me to chambers for special guests.
Mittermeier was smiling and full of self-confidence. "How could we be so naive and let the IMG go unpunished from that yet another ore stealing case. Shortly after that they pulled the O9 stunt."

Lavish room of medium size was outfitted to CEO's liking, and delicate smell of cooked food from not far door to the kitchen was obvious sign of a meal soon to be served.

- This place is kept rather cozy, for so much needed informal meetings. Please, sit down, director. I'll call the waiter.
Daumann rep tried to play the role of good host the best he could in that informal situation. He had big hopes about that meeting.
- Harald.
- Yes, sir?
Talking to Kruger director, Mittermeier asked:
- Anything to drink for start? Coffee? Water? Maybe something stronger?

*Ulrich followed Director Mittermeier from the guest room to the special guest chambers.*

''In past we offered them a hand of peace because we wanted a peaceful resolution of our conflicts. But the more time passed the more they wanted and the more ground they took. It appeared that when you offered them a finger they wanted to bite off your entire hand. We think alike, Krüger and Daumann, we'll stop them.''

*When Ulrich entered the special guest chamber, he was impressed by it's looks and design. Director Mittermeier possessed a very good taste. In the distance he smelled the freshly cooked food and wandered what it was.*

*Fred and me will take two coffees for the beginning. I wouldn't want to loose my focus. But maybe later during the dinner...*

-Harald.
- Yes director Mittermeier?
- What do we have for dinner today?
- Whatever director and your guests wish. For appetizer let me advise you baguettes with Red Stuttgart Sausageon. For the main meal, our chef prepared Fingers of Badenfish in Bropper Sauce with some leaves of Bootleherb, steak from Gaian White Buffalo with Cambridge Peaches, the so-called Taste of Kusari, sliced Kyushufish with fifty spices, Frogger's Legs in molten cheese. For dessert we have candied Cambridge Peaches with vanilla icecream, or cream cookies made from eggs of Californiabird and delicate, thin puff pastry.
- I will take Badenfish and icecream. What about you, honored guests?
Daumann CEO looked warmly at Krugers.

*Fred Schneider hesitated, it all sounded like music in his ears. The Fingers of Baden-fish in Bropper Sauce. The Buffalo with Cambridge Peaches. Then he turned to Harald.*

''Harald, I’ll take the sliced Kyushu-fish with fifty spices and the ice cream.''

*Ulrich thought about what he would take and decided that he hadn't eaten good old Fingers of Baden-fish in Bropper Sauce in some time and this seem as good chance as any.''

''And I’ll take the Fingers of Baden-fish in Bropper Sauce and the icecream as well. About our common problem, we have assigned a special division under the command of Hans Hoffman, for investigating business associates of the Independent Miners Guild.''

*Ulrich thought for a second where to start and questionable business dealings of the Independent Miners Guild with some groups seemed like a good start.*

''Our investigations revealed some shocking dark light on the matter. If my memory is correct you have had that information from our Vorsitzender Helene Schmidt? There were a number of occasions the revolutionists were even escaping from our security captains by using the stations of the Independent Miners Guild, even some foreign enemies did the same. Considering our corporations together are the main hearts of the Rheinland Military, Federal Polizei and the economical flow. Wouldn’t it be logical they do something about our security with the money we help them? I had more on my mind, but wanted to hear your thoughts about it as well.''

- I like that we have similar opinion on that matter.
Mittermeier replied to Ulrich, looking at the waiter leaving the room.
- Business associates of Thieving Guild are known, more or less, at least in our space. They openly admit they house terrorists on their bases. Were they forced to stop that, hessian terrorists would be severely limited in their supply and staging points. But that is the thing of future. We mustn't..or at least we cannot allow ourselves to act harsh in that matter for now. Speaking of that issue, that would be good to diversify Tau resources suppliers, my colleagues.

*Fred Schneider hesitated, carefully listened to Mittermeier’s words. Looking forward for the drinks and meal to arrive, he wondered how this meeting would influence his view on the terrorist collaborators called the Independent Miners Guild.*

“I was thinking, sometimes the enemy of your enemy can be your best ally. What would be the worst enemy of these “Terrorist Miners”? Considering we all want to have our hands clean towards the Rheinland Federal polizei und Militair. It could be a option to consider, using help of others to fight proxy wars and accomplish mutual goals that is.”

*After these words, Fred Schneider was looking to the doorway, hoping for the waiter to arrive.*

“Herr Schneider has point on that matter. Those miners make more problems than they do good.”

*Ulrich made a brief stop and continued speaking.*

“Still that is a complex mission and requires a lot of forward planning. Something to think about until our next meeting, the outcome would have great positive effect for both of our companies.”

*Ulrich thought about what to say about diversifying Tau resources and figured he could reveal some parts of the agreement with Gallic Metal Service to show a good will towards future partners.*

“Now about diversifying Tau resources as you said, it’s never good to allow only one company to have unrestricted access to materials on demand in Rheinland. We have considered this problem within a meeting of Krüger Mineralien Board of Directors. An agreement was reached with Gallic Kingdom owned company called Gallic Metal Shipping about monthly delivery of Niobium ore from Tau region to House of  Rheinland. It was our intention to loosen the dependence of Rheinland to Independent Miners Guild. There would be a certain amount of minerals delivered to Rheinland per month which would greatly help Rheinland economy but this is not the time for the shear amount of the information the contract was followed. Safe to say, with help of the Gallic Metal Service, we have secured an unrestricted flow of minerals and ores from Tau regions to Rheinland.”

That got Daumann director's attention. Whatever IMG propaganda leaflets could say about Kruger, that certainly wasn't stupid move.

"That's very interesting what you are saying, Ulrich. Of course Gallic market was opened for us by their Crown, but we're still new on those unknown waters. We don't know much, only publicly known info, that after Gallic navy took over Taus, their miners from GMS started pouring in. Do they have sufficient expertise and mining fleets? Are they already familiar with the terrain and its specific?"

In the meantime, waiter arrived, bringing up another portion of meal on a silver plate.

"Thank you, looks tasty...Returning to GMS, are you sure they could do that? I'm not denying your negotiating skills, but they could be bluffing just to get the contract."

Dieter took longer breath and waited a moment.

IMG are small and insignificant, and they will not be big problem, but first we need to be one hundred percent sure GMS and Gallic crown in general can provide steady shipments. Of course even in the worst case scenario we won't collapse because troublemaking flea thinks it is bigger and more important than in reality, and stockpiles should last up to six months, but: alloys made without niobium are weaker, and armor plating quality suffers a lot because of that. We'd have to engage GMS, Samura and freelance miners for diversification process initial phase, or so our company predicts. This wouldn't be possible to be hid forever, and sooner or later those thieves from the Guild will find out. Sudden Niobium boycott, in situation when we already have signed contracts, shouldn't be really dangerous, but could influence stock markets. We'd need some sort of diversion to keep Thieving Guild's attention on different matter... What do you think?"
