Win7 CTD

Hello everyone!

It's pobably been asked a hundred times but I can't find th thread so I'll ask again. I have recently installed win7. Game crashes to desktop upon selecting a character to play on Discovery Server. Compatibility modes and windowed mode didn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

have you done clean install, without any other mods, and deleted the disco folder in "my documents"

how long as it been doing that, is it suddenly?

Go to My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts and delete that folder.
And My Documents shortcut is:

I've just installed win7 64 bit on my new PC (totally capable of dealing with this OS) so yes, it's a clean install. I've not yet managed to play freelancer on it. I can enter the game menu but freezes upon character select. Deleting the Accts folder in My Documents\My Games\Freelancer did not help either. Any other ideas? :S

AVG 2015
It includes firewall but that doesn't interfere because in that case I wouldn't see the server show up.

It includes firewall but that doesn't interfere because in that case I wouldn't see the server show up.

The anticheat on the the server sometimes has a fit and decides that it's going to kick you off because you haven't set and exception for the
DSAce.dll file. So all you have to do is go into your AVG and set the exception for the file, that way you'll be able to log in on your characters.
