Here are some suggestions for the mod, didn't think any of em through. Hopefully it could be of any use.
-Tweak NPCs: Reduce nr of guns to 2-3 with med/high damage & low fire rate. It may reduce lag for some. If it's possible; designate some systems as PvE for less visited systems
like Dundee and have increased NPC spawns in 'em even at high pop.
-I'm pretty sure I've seen this suggestion in the past: Bump capship cargo up a bit. Surely those
giganormous ships can handle a few more crates of food rations.
-Suggestion for money sink that may somewhat also solve the issue above; 3.X capship armor that
barely takes up any cargo space with a price range of 1-2billion.
I personally want to be able to spend more time in space w/o having to RBT and sell so often. Basically: tons of money turns into a tiny bit of improved quality of life.

I Used to play a game, Rappelz, and their -system- was quite interesting. For example (I'll talk on Freelancer language), there you'd buy 2 capital armors 1 and combine them, if it goes successfully it'll become capital armor 2. Then you combine two capital armors 2 and you get capital armor 3. And so on... I hope you understand what I mean.
Wouldn't it be a bit interesting if it was possible to combine TWO Capital Armor VIII to get one Capital Armor IX which would multiply the armor by 4.5 (or maybe 4.3 or so...)? I doubt even myself if I'd risk two Cap armor VIIIs.
