Regairding the Pirate Train is there any limitation for its use?
Can someone use it for normal trade besides the smuglering?
When does a char goes out of RP using it?
If i see a priate transport lets say, with passengers near texas, i'll be suspicious. And most likely keep an eye upon it to see if they suddenly become slaves *cough*.
If you're in lawful area a lot, get something less evident. That wont get ou destroyed, but will get you watched.
i see quite a number of pirate trains running round doing normal basic sort of non-smuggling trade (beryllium passengers etc).
i usually query police craft in the vicinity about their probably afiliations with pirates.
i have had one pirate trader warn and lead pirates in advance of police craft. He did in in a way which esnsured the destruction of the police capital ship vessels.
So yea -- never trust them and you should feel inclined to shoot on sight.
see the thing about the pirate train is... it looks really cool but its pretty OORP for smuggling (in most cases) IMHO. It gets caught in trade lanes and doesent have CM's. Like it says on the info card its only for short trips etc etc. However, I don't feel that it would be OORP for anyone to fly whom is white or green with. as it is sold on a freeport that means anyone. The discription says it is for pirates only however...
Quote:The Pirate Train is the largest transport-class vessel available for the Sirius pirates. Although offering an increased cargo bay, this ship has weaker defensive capabilities than the Pirate Transport. Using the Pirate Train on long and risky routes is considered inefficient; however, it comes in most handy on shorter routes between nearby unlawful bases. Ships of this type are also used for supplying pirate capital ship fleets with H-Fuel and other necessary goods.
Places Sold
Belfast Production Facility, Newcastle, Bretonia
Freeport 11, Omicron Delta
Quite honestly I think it would be bad to have on a regular trader. I have been caught with a smuggler ID and that ship not smuggling in front of Manhattan quite a few times and nobody has uttered a word when I wasn't smuggling. However if someone complains then you have problems. I expect that someone would sooner or later, which is why I feel it is a bad choice.
Now, if you had say a [Gateway] tagged ship that would be very OORP. But for a trader ID with no IFF it would be OK, but possibly frowned upon by others.
also, they noted in a post above that it would be 'suspicious', however no law should ever attack you simply for having a pirate train. It will get you watched but not shot.
i think we should complain. the whole ship reeks of pirate. they can only have obtained the ship through good relationships with criminals.
blow them up.
(also -- i tend to think that the pirate train is the most well armed and powerful trading vessels out there -- it has to be cos it ws intended to be shot at a lot)

Actually, the Pirate TRANSPORT is.
Anyway, my LR smuggler uses a Pirate Train. Wonderful ship.
So, for what i been reading its a bad choise to use Pirate Train for a normal trading route. I was wondering because its cheap and as good cargo hold, althougt its not that heavelly armoured or has good firepower like other transposts have. Its a cheap. Well, i m not thinking of using it on Manathan or anything, just on my route. Just gonna change it as soon as i have the money for it. But is a nice ship.
just one more question, is out of RP dock in normal planet or stations with it? I already saw normal trading ships with pirate tags, so can i use it and dock normally?
