Today, a group of order and corsairs (and me) were going after a small group of bounty hunters. A battleshipmen named nuke, started going blasting me 5k within a freeport, even after we told him 7000059349 times that freeports are safe zones. I was just wondering, HOW THE HELL COULD SOMEONE SO STUPID AFFORD A SHIP THAT BIG? Lol, and so this question came to mind, are credits getting easier to get?
Not sure if the server rules say an FP is a safe zone,
but it would be nice to do someone the courtesy of recognizing them as safe zones in most cases.
(Nomads, or Phantoms or Xenos/other terrorists or anyone who is against the Zoners would not need to recognize it as such)
My question is... was the guy a bounty hunter?
If so and if you were blasting hunters, then he had every right RPwise to come after you because as far as his character is concerned, you are killing his comrades.
OR
Was he a lawful of any sort?
What lawful guy is going to let some Zoners say when he can and cant kill off criminal scum and terrorists?
So in either of those cases he is completely justified.
If not then Its hard for me to see how he has any business;
A; violating the RP principle of an FP safe zone
B and more importantly; violating the server rule of engaging without a justifiable RP reason
C; even interfering in a fight between you and NPCs
And actually he *is* smart in a certain sense, he figured out how to afford it.
Easier to get credits or no, those things cost a fortune.
Freelancer id..... i had pirate id, i was not offensive, agenst roleplay and breaking a rule. Freelancers are not terrorist.... they can't just kill ppl willy nilly.
I figured Freeports being neutral zones was just one of those unspoken rules that we concede to.
...'Course the bounty hunters (not the ones that actually RP on disco) make up the rules as they go along anyway so, "just be careful from now on", is all I can offer you.
He wasn't a bounty hunter, he was a freelancer. Freelancers are not terrorist like i said, he had no reason, AND LOL... i think he was pirating me hehehhe, he asked for liberty navies in my cargo when he was a freelancer... XD.
Pirating a pirate... DUMB. Pirating with a Battleship, DUMBER, Pirating a pirate with a battleship, DUMBERER
Well, he's dumb enough that he and Kuun-Lan fell for my ploy to send them to Omicron Alpha... where the 101st was waiting for them.
But once we shut the Niobium-Daimond route down in the next mod release and jack up the price of capships, that should stop some of these meatbags from becoming a threat.
of course you can blow up someone near a freeport. - its not a rule, its a guideline for a better understanding between you and the zoners. - however, if you ignore the little "advice" called a freeport rule - you ll soon see you into trouble when you next want to purchase the latest gimmick - like cap 8 armour, supernovas etc... cause its either zoner bases or order ally bases that sell that stuff.
so for the average guy, - being on at least neutral terms with zoners is beneficial. - if he upsets zoners, docking at their stations is as ooRP as docking at manhatten when you re a hacker.
either way, much ado about nothing... the player in question is violating the rules anyway, if he indeed was a freelancer in a battleship.... . a quite report would have done the job much better than writing it up here.
