Hello. I just had a very unpleasant experience on the server. I was on a very good rp with my liberty carrier for about 30 minutes with a rogue, when suddenly another carrier member of the faction 5th| came and decided to take "control" of the operations. It was more like : "now you get out" and you can understand the inconvenience. So I leaved the sector. Did I have to follow the orders of a faction (official/unofficial) ? (+ the guy accused me to just be a pew pew player, I still don't understand why). Thanks for sharing your feelings.

You don't have to follow the orders of an unofficial faction member. It's down to roleplay and the situation. Interrupting your RP just to kill the rogue is a nice irony if he really did accuse you of being a norp pvper.
All around, it's a dick move but it's not really sanctionable.
As for your question, you're not forced to follow the orders of the official faction either, it's however very much encouraged. Official factions are supposed to have some standards and you can usually work out something with them.
Okay funny you do this bud, but considering I just saw you open fired on a Outcast Gunboat while me on a different then shooting this Rogue Cruiser about 30 minutes before. I thought it was best, because I had messages from the guy saying gank, you have a rookie carrier, so that is why I done that, I hope you take no offense to it. But also ontop of that, I know how this guy works so I thought it was best for me to take over being the highest ranking officer or pilot on the scene. I am sorry if you did not like what I done but having a Carrier, LABC, a quiet a few snubs around a guy that claims GANK every time a ship bigger than his turns up he runs and trolls
Well the reality about this situation isn't as easy and definitely as right as the version of your opinion, you just posted here, Rhonkar.
I logged in, I undocked, and invited you guys into a party, asking if anyone of you knew if California.Blue was around. You told me you just had fought him ten minutes ago but he managed to escape. So I checked Rochester and found him. I told you guys that he was here, and I also asked you two to stay 10 K away so you don't scare him off, because two capital ships additional to a bomber against 1 Scylla seemed a little overpowering.
Then my faction mate, who actually plays a higher rank character than me, has shown up. He asked all of us to stand down and hold fire, that was the moment when you asked why you were ordered to do so. In a matter to respect the roleplay and the logic that a higher ranked navy officer is allowed to order lower ranked to stand down, we all did, and you were told several times to do so. Then you kept asking if a faction has more rights to order others around. I told you in RPwise the Primary Fleet's orders shall be respected, you were also told that a faction holds more authorization than an independent character.
Everyone was accepting and following the orders and the situation as it was, everyone but you, you kept complaining and discussing about him, saying he was "yours". No-one is anyone's property, as the players decide who they wish to follow and who they wish to rp with. You cannot tell me that you had 30 mins of nice rp with that Rogue, and my faction mate ruined it, because it was infact me who found him at Rochester and who called you guys, while my faction mate moved in and arrived in 7 minutes.
He wasn't "taken away" from any rp, infact a new rp scene was created where the Rogue got escorted and in the end began to resist against Liberty Forces and shot an LPI Officer, where the Rogue then found his end in an explosion, as answer for his attack.
And thats how the whole situation happened. Not anyhow else.

This is not 100% true. The Faction Rights state this:
Quote:Faction Right 2. Official player factions have authority over players of the same NPC affiliation, as long as RP justification is provided. This authority applies in forums and in-game, and applies to player faction diplomacy, and strategic and tactical direction, however, exercise of that authority, on the forums and in game, is restricted to official faction members with the rank of the official faction leader and second in command(s) of the faction. The authority may be exercised through the use of in-game in-RP orders, which, if not obeyed, can result in in-game in-RP consequences (arrest, court martial, and even "lethal" force in extreme circumstances). Official player factions cannot, under any cicrumstances, require another player to follow non-canon RP if that player doesn't want to. In case of IDs with multiple official factions, this right is nullified and cannot be used by any of the factions.
So, the leader and 2iC of an Official faction do have authority to some extend.
However unofficial factions and all other members of official factions do not and the authority is limited to stuff that makes sense and does not apply to non-canon RP of the official faction.

somewhat this. Also, as it says in the faction rights section of the rules, only the first and second in command of an official faction can give orders to indies etc.
If it wasnt an official [LN] giving the orders, then orders given by others are optional.

Actually I knew he was cloaking near Rochester before you say you found him. Furthermore, I wasn't really pretending this guy was mine but just mentioning the fact that you were stopping my rp in a very bad manner. Finally I was asking if you have the right to give me orders with //. Why you didn't answer me with // that you had no rights...
