6mbps HD 720-30p for just about every video on my channel. There were a few beforehand that were higher/lower res but they've since been invis'd

I could go for 1080p but I'm often having these render while I'm still doing things mid-day

I've noticed a sizeable difference between 1080 and 720 render times. So while an hour or so of rendering for a video is fine, as I can just easily go get something to eat or play a lower-fidelity game and not have any problems, 1080p would lock up a good 2 or more hours for rendering that I would be stuck doing little else

I can't even run disco most of the time as I get some weird processing-frame loss and a whole host of lag that makes me virtually useless in anything but just solid RP

Not sure if It's something I'm doing in the settings or just my mid-low end computer, but the times are rather annoying.

Setting my computer to render overnight isn't really an option either sadly, as my computer is in my bedroom and the sizable temperature difference caused by my running PC would keep me awake.

If nothing else I can at least pretend like I know what I'm talking about~

720 rendering should be ok, but what do you render output as, for me, wmv 720 template is good, but only if im recording in 720, should try to render same resolution as you record at

wmv keeps smaller files than avi, with only extremely mild, quality loss

also youtube loves wmv more than other files, and it processes easier, if you record in 720/1080 itll give that option in the settings when viewing a film

Alley gave me that link ages ago. The settings in that video seem to provide quite high quality videos in 1080p, however it does take longer to render.

Operation Spear, the video for the Order/Core event from saturday is up.

If it's not showing for you, come back in 20 minutes while it finishes processing.

I've been experimenting a bit lately with the use and creation of cutscenes, as I've got big plans™ for future projects. More or less this was me testing out how to do about 3-4 things all piled into one test video.

Things like this are something I kind of want to integrate in some way into the visual-novel project I've been ditzing with. Just a little bit of fun editing with some homeworld fanboy-ishness mixed in.

Brownie points to whomever can come up with the exact name of the audio track.

So, I expanded on the cutscene thing a bit, and spent upwards of about 4 hours throwing together a 1 minute video

.
.
.
yeah this took way longer than it should have.

The thing that took so long was really the middle scene, where I had to get about 8 different layers all matched up and looking snazzy and whatnot. There's actually 2 layers of clouds moving overtop of everything that try to make it look like the camera's still in the nebula, but after about 30 minutes of fighting with it, I just gave up honestly. Finding a balance between visible foreground effects, and being transparent is painful.

Speaking of painful: OH GODS THE ANIMATION EFFECTS OF JUST PANNING FORWARD WAS A NIGHTMARE

entirely because I did basically half the work on this completely the opposite way I should have done it. AKA: I did all the 3 scenes in reverse order, and had to re-synch everything after I moved it all to fit in the prior scene.

Needless to say, I lost sleep over it.

why'm I still awake
