The story of the Konoe Shidan

Originally created to replace the Hideyoshi Guards that would later become known as the rebelious Blood Dragons, Konoe Shidans, or "Imperial Guardians" were consisted of elite kusari troopers selected from imperial navy' finest, and which proved an absolute loyalty to Samura' beliefs. About 10 000 of them formed the head of the spear that invaded Hideyoshi' fortress and bought the downfall of its reign.

While not as well trained as the Hideyoshi Guards - which had exclusive training accessible only to them, the Konoe Shidans fought with the valliant courage for a new era, the new era of prosperity and peace Samura promised them. of the 10 000, barely half would survive the wrath of the Hideyoshi Guards, both in the invasion and on later distant skirmishes which would eventually drive the loyalist to the dead emperor in the far away system of Chugoku, in the legendary fortress of Kyoto.


Konoe Shidans were in the beginning trained to be mainly fighter aces and excellent warriors on the ground. But one such support fleet nearly guaranteed any commander its victory, for the Konoe' Shidan fierce ways of fighting was inequaled on battle. From bodyguards, the Konoe Shidans became elite support units although traditionally, they remain in their guardian roles, hence why they are so rarely deployed.

The organisation would gain in size enough for it to be divided in many fleets, each commanded by a Taisho who has proven his worth on the battlefield. The whole fleet was led the a Dai Taisho, traditionally leader of the 1st fleet. Each fleet has a speciality - space fighter superiority, bomber superiority, fleet command superiority, etc.

At this moment, there are 9 known Konoe Shidan fleets, the 7th being the newest.
