Now I'm not sure if this has been tried ever or if it is even possible. But as you know you can set paths from one way point to another and pretty much follo wit like that however. The Autopilot doesn't realy follow that guide, at all. Only the first waypoint and then it stops.
Is it possible that a ship could "Go-to" pretty much to all waypoints from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 etc. ?
Like if it stops by the first waypoint, it'll cruise again and go to towards the second waypoint.
The autopilot in Freelancer doesn't actually do much. It's made so limiting.
Perhaps it's designed that way to discourage afk playing, but come on.
I would like to see know if technically it's even possible to "fix" it.
Actually hold on.
What's the problem with an autopilot able to move trough multiple waypoints? You can just as easly make one waypoint and cross the system while afk. That throws the "afk traders" out of the window. I don't really see an issue here.

Adoxa cracked this to an extent, for single player at least.
Even if this could be implemented flawlessly for Discovery, it's quite a clear and obvious no. Efficient and completely afk (barring combat, of course - which would not count as a sufficient detriment in the long run) trading would bloat the economy to a ridiculous level. Quick and near-effortless trading is fine for the balance of some games, but terrible for most; Discovery falls squarely in the latter category.

Yeah but what about those which just want to kick back after Work and set the waypoints, lay down because tired and watch the screen while tracking if someone appears for interaction.
NOT TO MENTION, it also has it's disadvantages for the "afk" traders as you call, imagine if a pirate is just in that system suddenly popping up, blowing you up because you don't reply? That's a disadvantage, then good luck getting another miner to mine your Ore again. It has its pros and cons but in the end it would realy be community service and would make peoples life easier as you don't have to freakin gloo yourself onto your keyboard while watching tons of K's being cruised, staring at your Screen like mad. Isn't it like that?
If you are a Pirate or a interaction seeker, your purpose is clear and thus being present and ready is a common thing. But while trading you wait until you reached the next Jumphole.
Please note that this for all I care could be only implemented from one Jumphole to another if you realy think it would be abused. So after reaching a Jumphole you still have to set the waypoints again on each system.
