I'm just wondering how to roleplay my deaths? Well it doesn't make sence if you die after death, cuz you will be back online soon. Maybe some kind of retreat? Well I'm not sure. Dying doesn't make sence inRP. So help me guys, how should I die to not to die?
Most people go for escape pods inrply. A few impose "sanctions" on themselves for dying, which can reach from losing credits for repairs/buying a "new ship/insurance up to permanently deleting the entire character (death).

Think the "escape pod way" is a good RPable option.
Also the new ship can be explained by inssurance things, may with some sanctions like you mentioned.
Got a kinda common but different thing...
Earlier this day I was trading at Newcastle with a heavy delay/lag (by unkown reason, runs all fine again).
Gallic forces were shooting me, at least I think they did, just happend all in a few images.
I docked the trading lane, lost shield immediatly, trading lane stream graphics thingy loaded and my ship was blown to bits.
Got disconnected about 2 seconds later.
Got proplems to explain that in RP style...
Fact I died and respawned at last visited base, cargo lost.
May some kind of "disabled and adrift, not able to defend, due onboard hardware crash" thing?

I'm not sure if this pod is a good idea. There aren't that many ships in fact. Amount of required ships would be bigger than amount of avaible ships. Trying to survive seems to be the only and best solution. Maybe the doesn't happen strategy could work as well
Also the cloaking device is quite too popular for me. Lets say it was very rare technology at first time when infested Rheinlanders were using them. To be honest, I can't imagine how it has became that popular through this 20 years. Maybe I can a bit understand house forces due to their possibilities and so on. However cloaks are too common nowdays for me, but it's just a personal opinion. Well I know we've got a huge advance in technology: bombers, a lot of new ships, battleship shields, carriers (which are arguing with battleships a bit imho) snacks. There's probably an explaination to my questions but it's too fast for me

Well, it's fine. Just stuff like this is very interesting for players. I've wanted it from my first steps in this game as well, like most of us. I've got some cloaks as well, but it's just a bit curious inRP how it has bacame as common thing as it is right now. I've got nothing against cloaks and players who are using them, it's just game, it's just another possibility ==> it's fine
That's one of my reasons why I like the Discovery server : You can mount it on every single ship
343 (off. Exiles) have a pretty neat permadeath on everything above freighter. Sensible, taking into account they barely have any place to repair fighters alone. Tottori is sort of "far" for them, deeply inside the enemy territory.
