Since the old old times, LSF had their own IFF. Nowadays in Discovery, they are indeed a very separate branch of Libertonian security fleet - to the level that Liberty Navy do not like them (with mutual feeling, perhaps), as both have their own mysteries and projects to work on. Some say, there is sort of cold war between the LSF and Navy, since both try to unlock mysteries of the Nomad Tech and not sharing anything to their "partners in crime".

While I can agree on MND or BIS, both being pretty clinged to the actual military cells, the problem arises with Kempeitai. The KPT are not really happy with the changes inside the government, looking into shadows as the new Republic of Kusari arised. Even more, while they aren't really anti-Republic, they are more pro-Imperial.

I am not sure why separate IFF hasn't been introduced to Kempeitai, since they should be no longer interested into KNF on Kishiro's payroll. Introduction of separate IFF per Intel ID would be good, but then, I am not sure what purpose of BIS and MND are and how exactly separated are from, respectivery, BAF and Rheinland Military.

I don't know what I'm actually permitted to say on this issue, safe to say, there's an OORP and INRP civil war rationale to it.

@Dunc- It is safe to assume this is a widely known fact ooRPly: the KPT is no longer supporting official government, because they are as disinterested into it as rats are disinterested into sinking ship. Republic is fragile, with majority of civilians against the new order in Kusari.

However, I'm not sure what is real potential of KPT or which exact bases do they actually own. But for sure, they aren't sort of the political police of the Republic.
