[Official Event] Event Poll - Need lots of opinions!

So I'm planning several official events, but I'd like some community input before I begin so that I may be able to craft the most enjoyable and worthwhile experience possible for the players involved.

Respond to the poll and make any comments if you feel there is something you want to contribute that can't be expressed via the poll.

In my opinion, all options have merits and interesting parts about them. The majority of events should be of the first variety, considering that it makes less work and the universe shouldn't change too often. The latter type should always be agreed on by both sides. Remember as well that losing assets doesn't necessarily mean that you have to lose actual bases or anything - it could be reflected inRP as well.

OK, so I like that you are coming up with events and stuff, particularly the Yaren event you did not so long ago. I didn't take part in any of these so I don't know, but was there any fallout from [TBH] or any other Corsair groups about the loss of that base?

I think events can work where gain/loss of assets is possible, but should be between factions of similar activity and agreed what is on the line beforehand, or one faction could sweep the board quite quickly.

Generally, both participating factions were pleased about the event because it progressed so well and ultimately was a fun event via the combined efforts of players and staff. They were some people (and this was small) who initially weren't entirely pleased with losing an asset - but not because of losing the asset itself but because the event was predetermined (Core and Corsair leaders planned the outcome years ago). There were supposed to be future developments to compensate for that but idk what the progress on that is (shout-out to the Corsair leader: If you want to organise some stuff I'd love to get involved). Otherwise the majority of people on the opposing side did enjoy the event and were content with its outcome as the other side was.

On the subject of this I could actually make Dabadoru relevant too. Now, I and Core| don't actually mind about losing Dabadoru itself from an RP pov nor do we really mind about the predetermined nature of the event (I was actually really concerned about Order activity when the zoner FR5 was a thing and really wanted to get the base into their hands ASAP at that point). The issue with Dabadoru is the conduct of how the Order players acted during the event and the base itself has become a symbol of the terrible sportsmanship, poor attitude and cheating during that event - leading to unfortunately high levels of bitterness from the Core side (which you can probably detect in my post lol). I am happily going to try and model one of the events around the battle of Nauru, because that is an example of a good event. God forbid any sort of repeat of the Battle for Dabadoru, as it's the prime example of how an event should never unfold and is the worst event I've ever taken part in.

As an evaluation it seems the ooRP variables are just as important as the inRP conditions before, during and after the event.

Right Lyth, I'm was going to bite my tongue but I'm going to be blunt here.

Want to know something funny? Core made the majority chaos out of this situation, so I'm finally going to be blunt

YOU CANT force someone to play on Core or Order
YOU CANT force people to change once their ingame
YOU CANT expect there to be equal fights in any game, regardless of it being discovery or otherwise
YOU CANT force players to enjoy something they won't

What I see, the main reason so many people joined Order during this event, its because they KNEW they were going to win anyways, that's the chaos of already 'predetermined' events, people don't want to play for the loosing side, there IS NO fun in that. If the server had more people like in the past, ya it would of worked by all means

But you can't honestly expect players to play for the side that is GOING TO LOSE ANYWAYS, and you CANT FORCE PEOPLE TO ENJOY SOMETHING THEY DON'T. People don't want to play core? Who cares, you don't control them, they do what they want, the problem is you didn't even limit players, which in that case it would of remained fair ya, but like in my case?

I played on Order during that event, because its the first faction I played on when I came here, a cannon faction, has caps, players and logical RP at the time. Fun for me! A majority of the Core vets were gone however while the Order remained still a primary faction to do this day. Why? Because its something people can identify and enjoy when they join this game. What could of been better to join the heroes of the nomad war? Now they can! Shocker, why no one joined Core? Because they just don't stand out as much as the Order does, not the official factions, I'm talking in potential.

During that event, i had made a stealth intelligence group, did the RP, gave out awards, hell even Corsairs at the time did rather good RP to give them a good vibe to join them.

However it comes back to

"You can't force people do something they don't want to do, or enjoy it. They will do what they want to do, and will enjoy it in their own way."

Seeing what happened today? People were having fun, and then you had the sad effect of kicking said player from the faction, Nyx did something she enjoyed, ya you may not like it, but you can't force her to either. Take this to heart, and stop your ongoing crap already, I'm not sure how often it is Me, Nyx and even Ghost tell you to just stop and take a look at the bigger picture, I hope this clears up something in your mind.

It's adorable to see you twisting ingame events, without even mentioning the actual causes of current state of affairs, to desperately make yourself look like a good guy. I am not even going to vote in this farce of a poll, given behind it is just another pile of rubbish you are going to utilize in order to justify the innate need to get things your way - with little regard to factions such as Order - and your way only. But hey, you are totally free to run your faction in any way you desire, except do not forget that you should expect direct social consequences of your actions. Given the latest development between you and Nyx, this attitude really pays off as it seems.

All points by Shizune and Golanski are correct, and a big reason why Core has the reputation it has now

One big problem I have is your desperate attempt to be a big faction, but you have to realize just how freaking limited you are. Structurally the core has so much that they shouldnt have, and even stuff that shouldnt even exist in Sirius. Cloning technology you say? Plausible cause of research projects? Bullsquit, im sure you can ask any staff member and theyll say that no cloning technology has EVER existed properly on such a mass scale. Core is a great concept of a faction. But an aspect I would like better is add in the part of how they cant do much at this time, because they are limited, it'd honestly make them more interesting to me...

But you wanna go and assume you can have whatever you want? *oh let me give my faction makos cause lol* The only military factions capable of putting multiple capital ships at a freakin jump hole are HOUSE MILITARIES, the core isnt a house military. They are a small wannabe "law" of the Omicrons, its just a meta-gamey power-gamey mess at this point, and you wonder why people have so many quarrels with your faction?
