Hey there,

Since POBs are a bit time consuming (and ugly looking) stations, which can however bring some profit via cloak manufacturing and so on. They are a good boost for some RP ideas, aren't they? Well, but a huge space station isn't always the necessary step to make.

What about adding another POB-class station? But smaller one, withno possibility to build any more modules than 1 cargo and shield one? (so 2 module slots at all --> its shield module could also have smaller capacity than the current POB's one) It could use smaller amount of FOW + Robotics, maybe it could be mantained by a freighter, even not a 5ker.
What I want to reach is a small station containing of a few rooms and a small hangary with the necessary stuff for repairing your vessel. Those small stations could be easier to develop and could work perfectly to some small RP projects not based on huge corporations and mighty factions. It could open a door for (inRP) small groups of Freelancers, lets say two or three guys (2 snubs and a freighter or maybe 2 freighters).
To be honest, I would gladly use something like this myself - I've got some ideas, but I know that I won't be able to hold a full scale POB myself. Small pobbie would be a perfect way

I'm not sure how it could be protected from random destroying, it would be nice if every single base is somehow protected, but it would bring some chaos most likely.

Now about the base model itself:
It can ever be one of existing models or maybe something new --> relatively small. Facility like this isn't meant to be a home for capital ships and factiories, just a small outpost for a few people.

There are already other base scenarios in the pipeline.

Because you can vote withno posting in such a poll. In this case you have to post to submit a vote. It stops people from giving 1:1000 hate ratio withno saying a word

Why not just remove the need to supply bases altogether?

As well as supplying the base creates activity in one case but kills in another. There was a topic about it a few days ago if I remember well

IMHO it would be fine if you don't have to supply your base, but the community won't make this dream come true. Anyway, lets speak about my pretty-eppy-small-outposts Smile

You still need to supply the commodities to build the "big stuff". Why not increase the amounts needed for that in return for the peace of mind of not having to feed a crying space baby?

After all it could be a good idea as well. Remove FOW+repairstuff and increase amount of stuff needed to build a factory / thing.

Anyway a small pob idea would fit perfectly too: lets say the base would look like this:

To make it clear: I don't want to replace the current POB, I just want to create an alternative version for smaller projects

I'd like to see something along these lines, too, as a place to dump stuff, so that I could have multiple weapons loadouts for example, but I could see the problem wherein there'd be hundreds of them all over the shop, clogging up systems.

Maybe building this toy would cost a bit to avoid this. Maybe one bil or something similar. Supplying it with a freighter would be faster and cheaper so build cost should be increased.

sounds good but you do realise, that they would probably be hunted for fun by any random battleship/cruiser , as these kind of bases would have a much smaller shield and hull strength
