Zoners of Freeport 11,
I have come to a point in my research in to understanding the communication methods of the Nomad collective where I will require greater reach and greater bandwidth to further my work. Some of the preliminary information I have on your satellite array in Omicron Delta suggests that it is the perfect platform from which to conduct my next experiment. Its location and capability is unlike anything we have at our disposal in The Order.
Out of humble respect for our alliance I am requesting that you let me use the array for a short time while I try to intercept Nomad communications. This endeavor does not come without its dangers. It is likely that the collective will detect my presence and try to remove me. Should they turn their attention to the array or the Freeport The Order will do whatever necessary to protect those valuable assets. I will be basing the experiment off of my Corsair built gunboat, the Argonne. This ship can provide some protection should the Nomads send small raiding parties on my position.

you will gain access to all our routine data and the logfiles we have on freeport 11.
however, i must remind you that the satelite is outside our neutral zone - and that our protection does not reach that far whatsoever. - although stationary defense installations had been installed in that area, they are not even strong enough to fight even minor threats. - this is due to the fact that those installations are old and were never really build to fight the heavy opponents we face today.
either way, when you re dedicating your work to this sensor array, you have to be extra careful. - we had to dispatch regular repair crews in the past cause this installation was not only taken down by nomad forces, but also by .... others, for whatever reasons. amonst those were wittnessed incidents where the guild once wanted to blind us while they were proceeding towards iota in a quickstrike and an incident when liberty forces disabled it once. - there are many powers out there that wish not to have a listening device operational - and those that work with it and guard it can become targets of those, too.
that such old stories should not discourage you. - but you must be aware that you get all the support we can give you on the station - but active defensive support can only be given within the neutral zone, as it is our believe that whatever happens outside our safety perimeter is not our business, unless it is made our business.
on another note. - the station has not been target of nomad expedition forces for a while. - when stationed purely defensivly, the keepers have very often stayed clear of the station. - we do not wish that state to change. - rumor tells us that the guild has high priority plans in delta and that there are things going on. - if they left freeport 11 for another operational base, - our station would indeed become a lot more secure but at the same time, the pressure onto the order would increase greatly as the hunters would not be bound to our laws anymore. - be aware of it that diplomatic and military changes might occur sometimes soon - from what we hear. - or in other words, be prepared for the worst and bring heavy protection.
of course, we would ask you to share your research with us - as much as you think benefits our cause and interests. we are aware of classified operations conducted by the order and would never dare to gain greater insight than the order command would grant us - but even trivial things can be of importance. most importantly - if ANY attack occurs on the sensor array, i d wish you to inform us in a detailed report of who and why. - omicron-delta turns more and more into a melting pot - and we have to stay on top of things.
i wish you success with your work on behalf of my crew. - station command might still have a word about it, but i am sure they will share our view. - the persephone will stand guard hidden all the time if you need heavy support - which thankfully haven t been necessary for over a year.
Thank you for the warnings. Be assured we have taken all things in consideration and would not be moving forward with this if the benefits did not outweigh the risks. The nature of the operation, however, will require the use of the smallest force possible. Any larger force than the lone gunboat I am bringing would be too overt. I will have backup waiting in Omicron Minor but if the mission is compromised I will not be retreating to Freeport 11; this is for the safety of the Freeport.
In light of this, I will have you know that the operation will commence at a time that is yet undecided and will not be disclosed for security reasons.
The information I am hoping to gain is two-fold. The obvious one is furthering the capabilities of spying on Nomad movements. The secondary has to do with following leads discovered in previous experiments. If the information gained directly affects the Zoners we will disclose that information, however, we feel this might have more to do with those in the House systems.
