Catherine trudges up the stairs of the apartment complex, dreadfully sullen. She opens the door to her apartment, and walks inside and drops her keys on the floor. She keeps her cool, puts her stuff down, then takes a short walk to the window, taking in the amazing view of this 822 year old city.

She takes a longing look out to the night sky of the city, racking over in her head what went on today, and she smiles. She smiles for the entire skyline to see, but what nobody else saw, were the tears that rolled down her cheeks.

It had been possibly the quickest and most testing day of the Navy Ensigns life, at this point in time, but that was something she had to keep quiet. She smiles to herself, thinking about what happened from the moment that Norman. And after a while, she just got up, going to her room and getting changed, then going to bed. She thought over and over again what could have happened differently... If she hadn't lied.
