Would like to ask for some clarification please.
Today I have met with a GMG player and started to have some fun. During that she/he wrote me a PM that my ID (Privateer) doesnt allow me to pirate him, since GMG doesnt belongs to house system.

So my quesion is:

Are Privateers allowed to pirate GMG players or not, and is there something what I couldnt figure out by the ID or I was simply just scammed?

Privateer ID:

The Privateers are a group of mercenaries and pirates who engage in piracy and raiding of houses or factions Bretonia considers hostile. They are secretly supplied and sanctioned by Bretonia, and may not commit unlawful acts inside Bretonia or against Bretonian corporations or Bretonian allies.

Pilot carrying this unlawful ID is a Bretonian Privateer, who:

Can attack any ship in self-defense or to protect an allied ship.
Can attack any ships within their Zone of Influence, except transports. Ships belonging to Bretonian corporations or allies of Bretonia are exempted from this.
Can demand cargo and credits from any ship within their Zone of Influence, and attack them if they do not comply. Ships belonging to Bretonian corporations or allies of Bretonia are exempted from this.
Cannot ally with anyone except with Bretonian lawfuls, Golden Chrysanthemums, Outcasts, Council and Maquis.
Cannot use any transports with more than 4,300 cargo.

Zone of Influence: Bretonia, systems directly bordering Bretonia, Taus, Omegas, Gallic Borderworlds

Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats

Where was this encounter? Perhaps you were out of your ZoI. If its inside your ZoI, you can pirate anyone except bretonians, of course.

It was in Cortez, so one step from Bretonia, what is allowed by ID as I see.
I got an answer by the named player during that about my request to clarify his words.
It was "misread" from his side as he said, so everything cleared.
Maybe would be smart to spend some time and reread everything here after a year.

If you want to pirate outside house-space: pick Junker ID. Additionally, you can pirate in Kusari.

Just make sure no lawful sees you.



However, one line is tricky:

Who exactly is ally to Bretonia, in this line? Liberty corporations? Kusari Exiles? LN/LPI/LSF? Outcasts?
