Why don't we just create our own swear words.

So why dont we?

can the word filter be made to replace words instead of just obtusely deleting everything that was typed even when only like 1/25th of the sentence was 'harmful' ?

If yes this would be damn good.

But these were created out of unique circumstances for groups that had no insult attached to them by our culture. I would feel very weird if I had to completely change my usage of words and it wouldn't increase but decrease immersion for me.

I think you have nailed the problem, however there is not an "our culture" on Disco. Disco is played by a wide diversity of people from different cultures so using real swear words does not have the same impact on all players. For example twat has been mentioned as ok, in Northern England it is one of the worse swearwords, but quite normal in the South.

In some respects inventing Disco specific words would be more immersive as they only apply inRP and have no wider cultural context. Of course just inventing pseudonyms for would not change the perception problem.

So marmaduke could be an inRP swearword if we wanted it to be.
