A mysterious figure was sitting in the corner of a seedy Newport bar. It was dressed entirely in black, covering its face with a dark hood and mask. It shook a cup of dice tauntingly in front of the eyes of a man sitting across.

The man was Corsair of origin, that was undeniable. The uniform, appearance and accent told more than anything else. A feminine voice sounded from behind the mask. "Another one?" it asked and the pair of dice rattled inside.

The Corsair mumbled a few words until he said. "I don't have any credits left."

A muffled laugh came from the figure. "That's a shame," she set the cup on the table. "But surely you must have come here in a ship, huh?"

The man shivered. "Yes, but... no way I can bet that! I need to get home somehow!"

The figure spoke quietly. "What about double or nothing?"

A drop of sweat ran across the Corsair's face. He nodded hesitantly. "Caraja... Okay." The figure shook the dice as the Corsair put down a ship access card on the table. A dull slam sounded across the room.

"Even or odd?"

"Even!"

"You're sure?"

"N-no.... Make that odd."

"Final answer?"

"Yes, yes! Odd."

The figure nonchalantly crossed her legs and revealed the dice. They both landed on a six.

"Midnight. I'll be taking that," she quickly caught the access card. "Seems as though the luck wasn't with you today. Maybe next time."

The Corsair sat there in defeat as she rose. She looked at him, her green eyes pierced through. She laid one of the won credit cards on the table. "That should at least get you off this place, if not to Crete then at least to Lagos."

The figure walked out of the room, adjusting its hood and directing its steps towards the hangars.
