Early History
The Contari Lance was founded in 815 A.S. Following a slave uprising within the Contari family compound, the Don of the family was violently murdered along his wife and children, leaving nobody to carry the Contari name but the one remaining brother known as Aurelio Contari. Though those that led the revolt were swiftly killed, the remaining slaves were taken under his wing and so the the Contari Lance was born. Armed by the man himself, Aurelio wished to prevent any further power struggles within the lands that belonged to the Contari family. Any remaining relatives were given “high council” positions within the new unit to prevent further revolts. This of course would only lead to the death of the Contari name.
The Contari family did not have much in way of power within in the Nacion and they were not the richest around by any stretch. Aurelio selfishly expanded his bank balance as well as land by marrying an older lady known as Isabella Serpico, befriending her relatives in order to better his position. Little else is known of the current standing of this relationship.
In time, they had two children, Alessan and Elaria who were given the responsibility of looking after the finances and assets that stretched beyond Maltas reach. Subsequently, they became the first two active leaders in the Contari Lances newfound influence in outer-space operations.
History
The Contari Lance continued to pillage, murder and commit crimes across the Tau’s and Kusari space, mainly targeting various groups of miners and independent tradesman, mainly that of those known as the Independent Miners Guild; disrupting popular trade routes across Sirius while making use of the space to become responsible for the majority of Cardamine, Slave and Light arms trafficking in the entirety of Sirius. This in turn returned able bodies and a lot of cash for the Contari family to do what they wished and the agreement to keep Naval ships out of Rogue territory was a fine deal for a thriving business.
They managed to keep this up for a number of years while retaining their place in the treaty with Bretonia, agreeing to behave in their space and even assist amidst the intensifying war with the Gallic Royal Navy. However of course, the entire operation caused a lot of trouble and conflict with law enforcement in all corners of Sirius, frequently being caught by Kusari and Liberty’s navy and police force’s. Though retreating wasn’t in the policy that the Lance had drawn up for themselves, occasionally the overwhelming numbers meant that shipments were lost and human life (mostly slaves) were taken during the shootings.
The Maltese Civil War 821 A.S
Amongst the glory that the Lance had found by etching their name into Outcast history, it was apparent that it wasn’t to be too long before cracks started appearing in the Nacion itself. Conflicts became increasingly common, relations not changing with foreign entities but inside the Outcast nation itself. It's common knowledge within the Nacion that Outcasts are made up of families, militias and cartels that are not always friendly toward each other. Skirmishes would occur close to the Contari's various Villas and compounds over nothing more than territory and prices. This was common and not anything that worried the Lances growing force. In 821 A.S however, a full scale civil war had broken out between the Lance and the 101st Ghosts of Razgriz who occupied Omicron-85, claiming it for their own.
As the result of conflicting beliefs about territory, technology and a long period of tension between them, the day finally came when the Lance made a stand outside the Corsica Sanctum. The 101st, being the leading military force behind the Maltese Omicrons, were determined to keep their property. As the current leader of the Lance and therefore adopted into the family, Luke Orsini frequently came to blows with Ghosts leader Estafania Casta, causing riots within the ranks of both the Lance and the Ghosts. Eventually the Ghosts confusing allies (the Samarran Raiders) opened fire on the Lance, setting the Sanctums space ablaze with gunfire. Blood was shed on both sides, in space and on the planet itself and therefore forcing independent Outcasts and other families to pick a side and stick to it.
The killing continued for a long time, skirmishes and full blown massacres erupting throughout most Maltese systems and the bordering Taus. Almost all trafficking operations stopped, the Lance focusing all its personnel into the conflict. It became clear over time however that it was doing far more harm than good. Toward the end of the confusion and bloodshed, Don Aurelio Contari attempted to resurrect the Council of Dons, including the newly created Crimson Cross, to bring order to the war. Due to a lack of mutual co-operation and attention however, this did not help matters at all. Once peace was finally restored after a ceasefire, this rogue attempt was agreed to be erased for the sake of the lives of the Outcasts and subsequently, the remainder of the Contari Lance.
Following these events, significant damage had been inflicted on the Contaris residential areas and headquarters. This signalled a withdrawal from outer-space operations and the remainder of the Contari Lance, on top of the surviving slaves, were put to work by the High Council members to bring the Lance's ground headquarters and buildings across Savona back to their former glory. In this time, further disagreements within the Contari's higher ranks led to several short-term changes in leadership, Orsini eventually handing over power to Drago Celestino. Construction work was eventually completed by the turn of the New Year and outer-space operations were due to start once again. This unfortunately did not go to plan. Orsini went AWOL and Celestino made the logical decision to give up power in absence of any support; not because he wasn’t capable, but because the rest of the former Lancieres had too gone into silence.
The Present Day
Following the civil war, Luke Orsini had not been his usual self. He saw the rise of the Lance once again before its swift second disappearance once the dust had settled but it wasn’t long before he realised that all men had their limits. Orsini went radio silent, hiding himself away on Freeport 10. The populace of the station weren’t his biggest fan, but they’d seen first-hand the carnage that caused the loss of so many and they took him in. In that time, the Lance did not hold up as expected. Aurelio Contari is said to be alive but no longer affiliated with the Contari Lance and Orsini knows little of what’s happened to many of those that still carried the flag once he vacated; including Drago.
Time passed and as if coincidences had been written by fate itself, he was contacted by Gabriella Casta, a woman he now considered to be the lesser of the two evils that encompassed the Casta sisters. She was back to take the reins of the Ghosts once more and she had called on him. She wished for him to revive the ruins of the Contari Lance. After a long break, Orsini could not justify why this was a bad idea. He'd noticed changes in the way Malta was run, and did not entirely agree. To what end, is yet to be seen.
Goals:
- To once again become the largest smuggling and trafficking family in the Nation
- To resume violent disruption of mining and trading within Tau and Kusari space
- To be an integral part of the rebalancing of power within Maltese space.

Ranks
Fanteria:
The Fanteria are comprised primarily of slaves, the poor, or foreign mercenaries. They have no real place but they’re useful for the Contari’s basic infrastructure. The pay is bad but the flag they fly makes up for the fact that they’re given little respect within the Contari ranks.
Lanciere:
The Lanciere comprise the majority of the Lance, and are much more trusted than the Fanteria. They are composed of mercenary Maltese from unrelated families and trusted foreigners. Their pay is more than the Fanteria receive, and certainly enough to maintain a respectable living planetside.
Cavaliere:
The Cavaliere are the few who have been given positions of leadership within the Lance. They are generally in charge of small squadrons of Lanciere, or larger squads of mostly Fanteria. They are required to live within the Lance’s compound on Malta to assure their loyalty, though they are each granted their own luxurious villas.
Familiare:
The Familiare are the members of the Lance who are either distantly related to the Contari family, or have proven themselves to be so valuable that they have been officially adopted into the family, complete with all the rights and responsibilities that entails.
Comandante:
The Comandante are the Lance’s executive commanders, answering only to the don of the Contari family. They oversee the entirety of the Lance in the name of the don, and all major imperatives are issued directly by them. Of course now the done is seemingly M.I.A. The Comandante now consider themselves free of restriction from the Don. The long and short term goals of the Lance will be carried out by any means necessary in the name of the Contari Family and Malta.
// Misc.
Ship restrictions are decided on skill, rank within the Lance and goals as a member of CL. Upon being recruited, ask the faction leader.
You are of course, not restricted to the ideals of the Lance due to the nature of being an Outcast and the fact that we welcome outsiders if your characters background isn’t a detriment to the faction. However you will be expected to conform to High Commands inRP orders, server rules and the lore of the Contari Lance.
A link to recruitment will be here once the thread is posted. If you are interested in the meantime. Contact Luke on Skype (ministryke)
Always glad to see more OC groups pop up even if I am sure there will be several inRP disagreements between the Lance and Crimson Cross. Honestly, OC RP is more interested with some political infighting, hope to see you out there if I start actually being active again.
Just a thought. You have Liberty Rogues as allies, junkers as neutral but Molly at hostile? I believed the Mollies and the Liberty rogues are essentially "in bed together" allies. Is this due to some diplomatic stancing, rp or...?
Mollys are no longer Outcast allies if memory serves me right, because Outcasts act as sort of privateers in Bretonia, defending it from Corsairs and Red Hessians - with the latter being new ally of Mollys. Not to mention Mollys are allied with Coalition.
Also, don't forget that Outcast Alliance is no more.
Considering OC are (by default, granted) allied with Lane Hackers and Liberty Rogues there seems a natural reason to ally - that being said however of course it's up to the faction and theres no problem imo eitherway. To the OP; I wish to know if Molly's being hostile was intentional and if so the rationale? Out of curiosity, more than anything.
