Nyx pilot: "Jester squad, on patrol. We're firing up the cruise engines!"
Comms officer: "Roger that, Red Jester. Good hunting! Sabah, out."
Three Nyx fighters fly away from Sabah Shipyard and start their routine scouting trip.
The emptiness of space is as quiet as always, the Malachite stands firmly in the planet's orbit while Yuma feels like nothing more than a tranquil oasis. In the meantime, Sabah has been in an uproar since morning. The most nervous people are the C.D.I. engineers, running around like crazy trying to set up bays three to eight.
What's most odd is that the carrier docking bays have also been emptied, even though some of the fleet's Zephyrs may still need repairs.

Forklifts move from place to place, making more and more room through a rather crowded hall, usually used for ship maintenance.
A blonde man comes down from one of the cosways and yells "We expect the Director of the Uniformed Forces and his boys to be here any minute now. Get those crates out of here. Oh, and someone bring me a table near this corner here. We'll set it up as the coordination area."
Moments later, Erik crosses his arms and looks around. In his mind, he can only think how excited he (and everyone) actually is. But, excitement or not - there's plenty of work to be done. As soon as he has a table set up, he sends one of the crew guys to bring the papers from his office.
Coronado, on the observation deck of Carrier Ares ::: 915 hours
Admiral Richard, stood next to a window, looked outside from the Carrier Ares that just exited from the Jump Hole. Seeing only some asteroids and Barrier Gate Station at a distance in the Barrier Cloud, he walked away from the window. He pressed some buttons on a terminal to open a channel to Sabah Shipyard."Sabah, This is Ares. We are arriving at the station. Clear Bay V for our arrival, Over."He closed the comm channel and opened his PDA."Helm, take us to the Sabah and dock at Bay V as fast as possible."
Comms officer: "We read you, Ares actual. Unfortunately though our answer is a negative. The C.D.I. have closed off all docking bays, unless for emergency situations. We were expecting you though. Mister Corvin asked us to inform you that he expects you in bay V, after you come in by shuttle. Bay II is ready.
Coronado, Sabah Shipyard, deck 20 ::: 916 hours
A few 15th pilots were running around, after they probably just left the Ambrosia, when they noticed an engineer trudging around with a stack of blue papers. Feeling inquisitive as usual, they started following the poor man who could barely keep all those files in his hands. They couldn't quite see what those papers were about, but they weren't flight reports for sure.
Coronado, Sabah Shipyard, Ambrosia Bar : : : 915 hours CIS Agent Kapkan came back just a few days ago, he was enjoying himself at the bar with a few drinks and a Liberty Cheeseburger. "Ahh, still better than the s**t, i got over in Champagne", he whispered to himself. He shortly realized after, that the bar was rather quiet compared to the usual. And he knew exactly why, "Being a stranger, a shadow, yes a ghost to others can bring huge advantages", Kapkan thought.
People around him ran out of the bar, leaving him alone, without even noticing him.
He stood up, left a few credits on the bartenders table, and went to bay V.
Admiral just came into the bay V, he saw preparations everywhere. He saw a table and the blonde man getting loads of papers from his crew. He only knew there wil be a presentation. Richard thought loudly."This better be a good one."He apporached to the table and turned to the blonde man with papers."There are lots of papers, all the crowd, preparation, CDI must be planning something big. What is going on here? I only got a note of there will be a presentation. Fortunately i like little surprises."While talking to the man, Richard realised Kapkan is coming into Bay V. While curious, he didnt bothered much."Ghosts belongs to unusual moments and places."He looked around for a chair to sit and when he couldnt find, he called a crew guy for bringing a chair. While sitting, thought loudly again"Let's see what are CDI after."
Mr Larkin finishes up in his office, picking up the necessary pieces of paper for the presentation when he leaves his quaters, making his way to Bay V. Thinking to himself what the High Ranking Officers will think. Walking passed a young lady in the corridor."Hello Miss, what a fine day it is. Have a good evening."Holding the pieces of paper and the paperwork in a sealed holder in his hand. He continues walking to Bay V.
Lab 3 was the smaller of the main three labs at the heart of Sabah, but as Lab 1 was still under renovation following the explosion of last year, Xi de Mortis decided that where she was, would have to do. And so, she yawned and diligently worked her green-haired ass off, cold pizza her only fuel. Ever since this project had been thrown to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Xi had been working around the clock to pull this bout of insanity off. No, not insanity. Desperation. The failing of the Kronos, the outclassing of the current Zephyr...no, this was going to have to be better. Bigger...and more dangerous. And yes, while it ultimately would be a massive undertaking...she just wished they had given her more time. Her presentation for this would start any minute, and even Corvin could attend.
She had to finish these blueprints right now...the last few bits had come in from her small team of architects and shipwrights, her final do-overs and send backs done. She was on the precipice of completion, but in her victory she found nervousness. She had to present these to the Admiralty, to the President...no, this could not turn out like the failed Kronos, this could not fall to the failures of time like the old Battleship...
No, Xi swore. She'd make something. She and her team would create an army, aramda...no, a force unto itself. The last, and surest argument. Something that would stand in the fire until there was nothing left to burn away. Because right now, the question posed to her? "Can this kill these things?" and dammit...not only would the answer be yes, but Xi swore.
It would be the wall upon which darkness breaks.
Coronado, Sabah Shipyard, Bay V ::: 925 hours
Phoebe was never late. She was either early, or precisely on time. And right now, it was early. Very early, as most people were still trickling in. She had been there for maybe an hour already, her time spent looking over reports and wondering when she'd be given command of a vessel again. The Artemis had taken critical damage during an engagement, and now was sitting outside Sabah, waiting for a verdict...a verdict, that Phoebe believed would be it's death.
But it fought well. So, she just sighed and let it go. Artemis died well, and with it's remaining hull, it could help build another. For now, Phoebe just sat there...wondering why the always present smell of pizza had not returned to her...no, it was gone still, and that, above all, made Phoebe uneasy. Even when working, Xi would have pizza hot and ready. It was her addiction, and at least it covered the smell of sweat and blood...usually. But at least it smelled...not bad. Normal, she guessed. Gah! she groaned quietly. Even her mind was wandering and slightly off...she was bored, honestly. She had little to do while the Artemis was being decided on, so right now...all she could do, was wait for Xi and everyone else to finally show up...and then she looked up.
Something was up...because she swore she heard the Admiral. And that, was a voice she rarely heard on Sabah Shipyard. Which could only mean one thing. Either things got really, really bad and they were doomed...or...hope finally was returning.
Coronado, Sabah Shipyard, Bay V ::: 930 hours It took Kapkan bit to reach bay V, but when he did got there he was a quite suprised. "A lot of importent people here, and lesser importent ones, but everyone is quite hectic", Kapkan thought. He realized he catched a few eyes. "Dont they have more importent things to do, insted of starring at me", he grins. He catched the next darkest corner of bay V, and started to observe the hall. He grabbed his favorite knife, from earlier days, out of his pocket and started to spin it. "I would love to see the faces of the unknowing, when they find out what these people prepare".
"I mean its noting that bothers me, as long as they dont touch my Nyx. I like to be maneuverable...", he laughed.
Knowing exactly what those people prepare, he just stands there and watch.
Late. That was what Xi was, late. Shuffling papers, the woman dropped half of them and nearly screamed. Her lab coat was a bit wrinkled, her clothes looking like she wore them the day before. With all honesty, Xi de Mortis didn't even care. She was done with this, she was ready to present and by the gods she was going to blow their socks off dammit. She looked at the most likely seated admirals, commodores, and all the other super important people.
"Next time you all give me a last minute job, ensure you don't run out of pepperoni." She shook her head, then cleared her throat. The blueprints would show up soon, yes...but right now, she had to sell this thing. Xi was going to have to sell it harder then a triple topping pizza for five dollars.
"Yeah, anyways." She set herself. Time to shine. "The Kronos was a failure. It could not stand against the Valor, and it could not fight the Ransuer. Sarissa was the only ship it could face, and when was the last time we needed anything short of a Pytho wing to take out Sarissas? The answer is never." She took a breath. "So I have designed something new. . The capabilities of this new vessel are tremendous. And by that, I mean stick to Zephyrs in the taus. Seriously. This is for open space, because that is where this vessel will shine. Especially in nebula...why? Because when this thing comes roaring out of the fog with it's full weapon complement blazing Crayterian death, they will know fear. This is the wall upon which darkness shall break, this is the ship to forge the fury of undying suns! Our enemies' demise will be forged in fire and darkness, lit up like a thousand suns. No, they not only will know fear...their terror will drive them from Leeds, from Edinburgh, back through the Taus and Orkney, right back into their home. And then, once they fortify their place, we shall use this as our tip of the spear. it will be Crayter who leads the charge and Crayter whose flagships shall strike fear into even the King of Gallia himself."
She threw her hand out in pure dramatic flare. She was, after all, trying to sell the Admiralty this damn thing. Might as well be okay with looking a bit ridiculous.
"This is the Deimos, and once we are done, we shall become the personification of terror...we shall be the darkness, they fear, the light of the Alliance, and with every Deimos we construct...they shall be the lights that mark the abyss, and offer hope against the rising tide." She paused to ensure they had a good look, before changing to a different blueprint.
"The Deimos is designed to fight Valors and Ransuers. Where our Zephyrs are horribly outgunned - and dwarfed - the Deimos fits the role the Kronos would have fit once before - as the tip of the spear. Whereas the Zephyr is the shaft, the Deimos is the spearhead of every major military operation. Instead of attempting a phase-out of the Zephyr and trying to mix both battleship-carrier duty, as was the problem with the Kronos, we will focus the construction of the Deimos-class dreadnoughts on destruction. While yes, we will outfit it with Nyx combat deployment tubes, it will hold less than half of what a Zephyr can carry. This will allow a Deimos to have a fighter screen, and be able to brawl with the biggest of them." She took one more breath. "We chose the name Deimos, because it is to become the personification of fear. The fear of defeat, the fear of absolute devastation...a symbol for our forces to rally behind. And we already have chosen what to name Deimos Hull number one." She clicks, and a pre-rendered version of a Deimos appears, the name emblazoned on the sides.
"Olympia. Derived from Olympus, seat of the Gods. This will be our flagship, and when the Olympia leaves drydock, we will bring down this terrifying hammer." She thought wildly. Literally this was all, all of it, was improv. She had no speech in mind when she was working and was saying what she hoped would work. "With this...those that survive our passing only shall do so, because we decided it."\
She stepped back to let the next speaker through, and collapsed into an empty chair. By the gods she was going to strangle something.
Admiral Richard was impressed with Deimos. Not only impressed of course. When he looked at blueprints and saw the ship, he saw a potential, that Zephyr or Kronos can never reach. It was massive, it was frightening, it was threatening. It could go man-o-man with a Ranseur, and with correct apporach, it could beat Valors. He listened Mortis' presentation, turned to a real speech, He could feel the excitement in the Military ranks, the hope rising in the Bay V, it was just what Military needed over all the years, The Machine of Destruction, Fear and Terror. Deimos...God of Terror. Admiral couldnt wait to see the first prototype and flagship, Olympia operational as soon as possible. He stood up from his seat, and told only one thing: "From now on, we will walk the path of brutality, while bringing fear, darkness and terror to our enemies, and bringing the flame of hope to our allies, being the barrier upon them. Gauls will know what is true terror, and Outcasts will watch how their Orange Dream burns. We will fight fire with fire and terror with terror! For those we left behind!"
