So I have been using the ROC since it came out, and with all the bugs it took some time to get the hang of. I was looking over an old thread today and noticed how people kept saying the Roc is "unusable." After a while of playing with it, I can tell you it is not true, I have figured out a way around the weapon mounting bug that at the very least works for me. I havent had to remount my SN or CD in months by using this method, try it out for yourself and see. A note, it is a bit hard, because you will be using keys you normaly dont.
First, mount your CD in the first Torp slot and you SN in the second, this puts the CD in the 5 slot and the SN in the 6 slot. When firing the weapon use the 5 and 5 number keys at the top of your keyboard. Using this way, I have had no problems with the Roc weapons in a long, long time, and I have two of them, and use them quite a bit.
I assume the "roc" is the civilian bomber (seems the only logical reasoning I can find for the name)-if it's not, ignore the rest of the post.
Anyway, I used it for quite a while, and never encountered any bugs...didn't even know there were ones. Just assigned the 2 torp slots to independant weapons groups and assigned each one to a key...never had any trouble that way...
What exactly is this mount bug? I've run into the other really annoying one before, but I still have no idea what this one is as I haven't had any problems.
I've never had any problems anyway... didn't know there was a bug.
Except for the fact that I turned the graphics down the other day to see what it was like and the Eagle was invisible... though that might just be a temporary bug like the invisible trains.
Thats true, I have had a couple of docking problems. As the the CD, I haven't had it long and have had no reason to use it really - its Cryer and a defense ship, in 4.85 when we can interdict cardamne traffickers it will be necessary:)
