My name is Helmut Weinstein, director of Division V, of ALG Waste Disposal.
It is possible you have heard of us, but to give a brief introduction: We are ALG's answer to anything the rest of the company cannot deal with.
We gather intelligence, we arrange clandestine deals, we manage diplomacy with organizations we cannot publicly associate with - organizations like the Order.
Though contact between our respective organizations has been infrequent and largely indirect, generally via our mutual associates the Vereinigte Widerstandsarmee, I would like to say we enjoy at least comfortably neutral relations.
It is unfortunate that the Federal Republic of Rheinland banned your ships from the house, but we have on occasion managed to supply some degree of indirect material support.
The reason we are contacting you is the following: Several months ago, we were engaged in negotiations with the O'Rhu cell.
It was a rather peculiar back and forth, but in the end we agreed to supply them with a small number of VP-series MOX reactors, while they would provide two military advisors for ALG employment for one of our ongoing projects - the operation of an IMGC-104D Sagarmatha-class battlecruiser.
The ship itself is nearing completion at Singapore Shipyards, and the military advisors were to be attached to the ship's crew to assist them in the operation of a ship class our Security Division has no prior experience with.
In particular, we considered Order personnel ideal since the main anticipated threat we intended to combat, what we perceive as the main threat to Rheinland and indeed all of Sirius, is the Nomad menace - a point we can surely agree on.
Unfortunately, as we were finalizing the arrangement, a neural net crash formatted almost all our comm data, and I fear we may not be able to reach our O'Rhu contact again. If we do not manage this, we wish to inquire if we could reach a similar agreement with the Overwatch.
I have no idea if you would be interested in VP-series reactors, but they are far from the only thing we could provide in exchange, material or otherwise. Whether or not the deal with O'Rhu re-substantiates, I do not believe it would hurt to inform you of this project.
Now for my second point, and I'm certain you can guess what it is.
At the time the aforementioned deal was drawn up, we were neutral towards your struggle against the Core in the Omicrons.
Now, as you know, they have turned this into outright hostility after attacking our convoy. At this very moment the Gunboat Orkan is stationed in the area to respond to attacks on friendly traders, and we fully intend to bolster our forces in the Omicrons.
This means that for us, the logical next step is to pursue closer relations with the Order. We will also be contacting the VWA to coordinate efforts to assist both you and the Zoner populace. Though we always believed in the importance of the Order in combating the Nomad threat, it seems you have gained more importance as a prime opponent of a major new human threat.
I cannot get into more detail at this time, as our next steps depend on your response. But with the situation being what it is, we felt it crucial to contact you about this matter.
My name is Michal Golanski, current commanding officer of The Order. Any communication between ALG and The Order will commence with either me or other appointed member of The Overwatch. First and foremost, your initiative to contact us has sparked our interest.
Very rarely anyone goes to war with Core. Most simply ignore this problem to focus on more miniscule, menial issues closer to the colonies. To say that we want to stop them is understatement. The Order is in belief that humanity needs to be warded from threats not only external like Nomads, but also internal represented by Core. It is unfortunate that Rheinland regime as of current supports them by extension of corrupt BDM and overzealous captains of the military, however if this needs to be this way... we have faced worse and emerged victorious before.
I will inquiry for need of MOX reactors, should personnel responsible for original deal among O'Rhu be unaivalable. It may be so that while we have no need for this type of device at current time, The Order will find a task or ressource that ALG has aptitude for to carry out. Perhaps covert delivery of various materials and products of Rheinland into ambiguous area of "border worlds" will be the best option we will opt in. After all, Zoners and them common are not known to hold accurate shipping manifests which adds a layer of cover for the operation. We will talk more in the future.
First, I just returned earlier from a meeting with the O'Rhu cell in which we discussed the terms of the agreement mentioned prior. We agreed to organize delivery of regular material supplies, in return for the assignment of one military advisor to the Erdbeben.
Additionally, we spoke of our general plans to expand relations with both their cell and the Overwatch. I imagine you will be hearing from them on the subject soon enough if you have not already. We were in agreement about the prudence of pursuing a policy of closer cooperation.
Second, the Erdbeben has been launched at Singapore Shipyard, and Director of Security Kai Richter has taken command. From what I hear basic drills are planned in the Taus, before the ship will undertake her maiden voyage to Rheinland pending permission from the Republic of Kusari and the Gas Miners Guild. Once in Rheinland, the O'Rhu advisor will be picked up at a suitable location and shuttled to the ship.
Third, the Division V Gunship Nebelbank has arrived in Delta and is currently based at Freeport 11, with agreement from the Confederation of Freeports. I traveled on board myself, to escort an IMG convoy carrying direly-needed hull panels from Dortmund to the Freeport, along with two other ALG Gunboats. The damage is certainly something I needed to see with my own eyes.
The Nebelbank will remain in the Omicrons, acting as Division V's eyes, ears and mouth in the area, and will assist friendly shippers against Core or Nomad attacks. We also intend to send a small number of snubcraft out into the area, to support her operations.
While we're not keeping our involvement entirely secret -after all, we made a public declaration of hostilities against Core- we will keep a relatively low profile in the area for the time being.
Regarding our next steps.
As discussed with the O'Rhu representatives today, we are offering material support to both them and the Overwatch. The variety of material we could supply is significant, and the main exports ALG produces itself - MOX fissile fuel and ship components - may be the most interesting as well as the easiest to acquire. There are a number of locations they could be delivered to besides the currently very hot Omicrons, such as Bundschuh bases in the periphery of Rheinland.
Next, as discussed with O'Rhu, we invite the Overwatch to send one or more military advisors of their own to be employed on the Erdbeben, to work with their advisor and our own crew to ease operation of the ship, and specifically for their expertise in dealing with the Nomad threat we'll likely be facing in Rheinland and elsewhere.
If you would agree to this, your personnel would be provided with forged Rheinland IDs and be officially employed by ALG Waste Disposal Security Division. They would remain free to report back to the Overwatch whenever they wish.
Finally, we assure you that ALG will act as a reliable partner in Rheinland's difficult political landscape. The government is officially neutral, but as you have mentioned there are clearly elements within the BDM and even the Military that have an interest in taking part in this situation. We will do what we can to counter their influence.
According to O'Rhu, they will continue the trade upon details that have been agreed between you and their command. With The Order Overwatch as witnesses, we will ensure swift completion of the terms of trade. However, there are more matters in which we may co-operate.
In exchange for granting ALG's more "secretive" division access to our space, you will be permitted to commit trade with our organization. Demands for any sort of commodity are vast and I believe ALG are more than capable of acquring almost anything available to purchase in Sirian colonies. The Admiralty would like you to use this leverage in increasing stream of ressources available at our disposal to further our agenda in Omicron systems. We're not without export either, as to which we ask for one of your representatives to visit our homeworld to assess what your corporation may take on your trip back.
We are capable of training your crew and para-military (Colloquially regarded as Marines) for a moderate fee under oversight of our most decorated and experienced soldiers. Kemwer munitions while not exactly legal may be of use to Fifth Division, free to your evaluation. With our industry picking up on speed, there might be materials sought after in Rheinland at cheaper rate than elsewhere. If you accept our offer and make outweight the doubts we might have had about risk assesment, I can assure you The Order is loyal ally.
It seems to me that we are in agreement about our course of action.
You are correct about our market access, there is not much in the way of industrial goods and technology we don't have the means to acquire. I've already dispatched a small number of transport craft to rendezvous with the O'Rhu cell, they'll remain on call for delivery of goods. I imagine our own main exports, ship components and MOX fuel, may be among the most in demand as well as the easiest to ship without attracting attention.
Depending on how this develops, my Division may well have to expand our logistics fleet.
I'll leave it up to my crews to assess viable exports once the first deliveries are made, though it goes without saying that advanced military hardware is highly interesting to us.
We will also be dispatching a freighter, the Meidling, to travel to Delta discreetly with light escort. It is carrying an expert crew and a cache of arms and military tech. Its objective is to rendezvous with another team and organize a small-scale surface operation on planet Nauru with the intention delaying Core control of what independent elements remain on the planet, as well as gathering intelligence on the situation.
Depending on the operation's exact timetable, the Meidling team may be able to take advantage of your training offer while in the area.
