Greetings all,

I have a quick question. Are black market engines considered "contraband"? Had a situation develop about half an hour ago. I was flying my LSF char and was requested by a Navy officer to apprehend someone using a BM engine. I have not seen these mentioned anywhere as being illegal to possess (altough yes, black market is usually considered outside the law), so just looking for clarification. Not to mention, I use one on my Avenger as well.

Thanks

It's more of a RP thing than being directly against house laws from what i've seen. - I might not be the best person to quote, though if you have black market stuff, I don't think it's very far fetched at all to be approached and asked about it. Heck, you might even be fined or something. It's all up to the lawful forces.

You sorta need to put yourself in their shoes. Say you're flying around and you see someone who is carrying equipment you know can only be bought on the black market. How would you feel? I'd imagine rather suspicious.

Less of being 'written into the laws' and more of 'Since it's on the black market, it's probably not completely legal.' (Thus the term 'black market')

That's my personal take on it at least.

Hey. The navy man was me. Actually I requested your help cause the guy I was trying to control didn't stop on my request. The CNOS was for the RP part... Not to mention the oorp with the other you did.

Yea, that makes sense. I just wanted to make sure that action could be taken in that situation.

Had a similar Situationa bout an Hour ago. My Executive officer and me were on our [RM] Chars flying through new Berlin, when there was a colonial transport with Pirate transport Turrets. Any Pirate Tech (As I was told by my XO) are considered forbidden within Rheinland. As for Black market Engines....I'm not sure about that, but I'd go with the first rule; Be safe.

Right. Like I said, I just wanted to be sure that levying fines or, attacking on refusal to pay, was fair play.
