Honourable Guildmaster Keiji Namura,
I am Marcus Preatorius, the new Administrator of Freeport 8 in Sigma 15, and I am calling on the Guildmasters of the Gas Miners Guild in a time of uncertainty and peril.
We have received the news that the organization calling itself the Core has declared war against all Zoner installations and while we want to believe that these threats are only part of the verbal sabre rattling, it's impossible to be sure. Leaders as us know to prepare for the worst in such cases.
As you know, Freeport 8 is still in its construction phase, and it is vulnerable at the moment. We lack the docking ports to station any meaningful defense capabilities on the construction site, and the defenses we have are currently occupied in the Delta crisis.
Given the ongoing political conflict and the difficult circumstances of the Freeport, I would like to ask humbly whether the GMG could be so kind as come to the defense of our civilian population, which has little means to resist the onslaught if the Core decides to attack more Freeports. All we ask for is the GMG to assist in defending the innocent civilians, of Zoner and non-Zoner in origin, aboard our station. You would not only be defending these people, but also the concept of humanity, respect and law, against the forces of barbarism, greed and aggression. We don't wish to go on the offensive, we just wish for no more lives to be lost and we hope to find a partner in defense in the Gas Miners Guild.
We cannot trust in Rheinland as a force of deterrence and a guarantee for stability and law, as their involvement in Omicron Delta has signaled that they are likely leaning towards the side of the imperialist aggressor and might have a vested interest in the area themselves.
It's not just me, but also the Confederation of Freeports who would be relieved to know that there is a significant regional power that would come to our aid, if the Core decided to make their threats true.
Even though our possibilities are limited, I would like to offer help where we can. Is there anything that we could assist you with, as a small gesture of thankfulness in return?
The Guild lays claim to the entirety of the Sigma systems, and as Freeport 8 is located in Sigma-15, it falls under Guild laws and regulations. As a result, it is covered by Guild law 2.6, which dictates ships engaging in unauthorised combat in GMG systems will be ordered to cease and desist, with refusal leading to destruction.
This effectively means that your station is under GMG protection by default.
The Core has also contested the claim to Sigma-15, signalling their imperialist intentions. We do not expect any military support, but perhaps in the interests of cooperation, the Zoners of Sigma-15 may act as our eyes and ears in the system, quietly reporting Core movements and keeping us informed of the local situation. This intelligence would help us further understand what is occuring in the area, and how to plan accordingly.

Honourable Guildmaster Keiji Namura,
This news comes as a great relief and I am sure not only the Zoners of Freeport 8, but also all visitors and guests are happy about this protection by the Gas Miner's Guild. You can be sure that this determination to uphold stability and peace and to protect the weak is appreciated deeply.
As to your request: We are glad to help, and we will be eyes and ears for the Guild. I will personally make sure that one of the message transmitters, which are going to be installed early next week, runs a special kind of software plugin that scans movement of ships and transmits those directly to a secure frequency of the GMG. This should be the safest and most secure way of masking the data stream, and at the same time guaranteeing good coverage.
