A lot of reports have started to stack in the past 24 hours. Users are reporting illegal remote access to their computers, in some cases with fresh installed computers running Teamviewer only.

If you have Teamviewer installed on your computer it's highly recommended to uninstall it until the situation is clarified.

You can read more about it in this news: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/06/01/...ch_report/
You can also keep track of the developments in this subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/teamviewer

Thank you for the heads up. I use TW for work purposes. I will forward this to other company members.

I wonder if anyone ever reads these announcements and thinks "ooooh, time to hack teamviewer" or something.

I was told if left open, but deleted it to be sure, thanks. I only use it for family anyway.

Judging by the reports, it seems as though the only people at risk are the ones who used a TeamViewer account to store login data for theirs and other machines. I am sort of glad that I was always lazy enough to make ''another damn subscription to something'' and just kept the login codes and pws in a separate txt file on my desktop instead.

Not sure if I want to risk reinstalling TV even when/if they fix this problem somehow, since they have refused to take any sport of responsibility and even have yet to confirm that there was a breach in the first place. As one article stated - they have even ignored that people who used two-step authentication got hit.

This problem, however, has made me rethink using Chrome's autofill for my passwords, especially for important places such as paypal and ebay, if nothing else.

I highly recommend KeePassX for this very reason. You'll only have to remember one password in your life, and that is the password of the encrypted keepass container. Put it on dropbox and you'll be able to use it anywhere. There are extensions that exist to allow KeePass to directly communicate with browsers and these only work if your container has been successfully opened.
