So check this out. i recently purchased the Zoner Neph..

if you Admins have time log a neph undock and hit either left or right strafe key, after releasing said key, your ship will strafe left forever..

I am unable to replicate this bug on my own Zoner Neph, are you sure you aren't hitting engine kill first?

had the same thing happen, thought it was a bug but i can do it in every ship
now, if you hold strafe key and open chat box 'ENTER' it will keep going until you press strafe again in the same direction after you send the message or close the box, also locks in other directions including reverse and thrust for smaller vessels,
There is also another way to make it do the same thing but i cant remember right now what it is

sounds like a key lock. Usually it should neutralize the effect by clicking the same direction again - hence resetting the lock. usually it can happen with rather cheap / average keyboards that have kind of a key stroke limit (you know - you cannot hit 5 buttons at once) - or it can happen when a game is particularly laggy .. meaning windows does not register the key release - or a driver problem - or, or, or ...

If you can replicate the bug - and it does not reset the strafing by hitting the directional key again ... it is most likely actually a bug - maybe linked to the way ships move in discovery (as in mass, strafe force etc. )

however - if you cannot replicate the bug ... then who cares lol - if it only happened once or rarely - its of no big concern i think.

I recently had that bug in space with my dread. I was incapable of stopping the ship. It was always set to max speed. I could reverse but when I stopped reversing it sped up again.

Sometimes that happens when you open the chat window or so. But in any case that has also happened to me with the steering or strafing keys. Usually it fixes itself when i press the bugged key again so i hope that helps.

I get this quite a lot of the time, what i end up doing is either hitting that key again and if that doesn't work i hold the 'down arrow' until the speed reaches zero which usually fixes it. I've noticed though the scroll wheel stops controlling the speed when this happens, but to be honest i think it's probably more likely my keyboard playing up or something.
