Jetblue, though I think this question was meant for hyperwave
Well heres what i went through during that time. In the Santiago airport I have my bags checked 4 times of which 3 of them were with my bags opened. They wanted to take my batteries away for some reason, but I was able to keep them. On the plane it was a smooth flight in exeption of the 3 crying babies. When we were about to land a Haitian on the plane wanted to go to the bath room and the flight attendant didn't let him. There was a heated discussion but nothing happend. (Everyone was looking to the back of the plane during this time). Then we landed at JFK.
At JFK we were waited by 3 police officers on a place they send you to after you land to check your visa. After that we all went to Immigration (In other words a long line with people from all over the world of which some could have used some deoderant). Yes people needed deoderant and on top of it all someone farted. I swear those guys at immigration are mean. After they check you and ask the 50 questions they slam your pasport and say you may pass while doing some action that suggests o look another jackass immigrant (like what kind of attitued is that).
Anyway I go to continued flight just to find out I'm at the wrong terminal. So I have to run from terminal 4 to 6 (I used the train but i still ran), got registered and ran toward the gates. At another metal detector I had to take my shoes off. Then I continue to run toward my gate and arrive just in time to catch my next flight that was just being boarded. In the line I get all these what is this hispanic doing here looks.
After that the flight was smooth and while we were starting to come over montana the flight attendants asked for a doctor on the plane cause a passenger needed medical attention.
Big Differences in the flights:
Santiago to JFK: Dominicans and Haitians with a few Americans and had British pilots. When landing the Dominicans (maybe some Haitians don,t know wasnt looking) clapped to thank the pilots for the safe trip.
JFK to PDX: Americans and Asians with one Dominican. When landing noone clapped (the first time I did this people looked weird at me).
Thats all for now but I will be active around here.

He kept boasting how he has never been caught; I'd like to see him beat until he begs to pay, then beaten some more.
Last time that I flew international, I flew Delta. Great food, but the plane upkeep was pretty bad.
Oh, and the reason that they took away your batteries was because of what happened at London Heathrow the other day. Someone tried to sneak liquid explosives onto the plane headed for the states and after that, everything went bonkers. Now you can't have any liquid on the plane with a few exceptions (baby food, non-prescription medications [contact fluid], and a few other things). Finally, I think that immigration here (USA), gets meaner since they're worried about the breach on the Mexico border. The US is getting more paranoid every day. Well, most people aren't like that, so don't take it personally, and I hope that you enjoy your stay in Portland.

O.o Yeah, meh, I had a bottle of water clearly in site all the way through check-in and our flight was BEFORE the securety level thing was down graded. So I should have actually had it taken off me, mind you they didn't give us any water on the actuall flight till dinner.. -.- what we suposed to do till then?

Lmao that happend on our flight.. xD
Only one or two familys clapped in the whole plane.. xD the rest of us just stared at them thinking.. " What the hell they are HAPPY to be here?!?" with your face like this -.-
Makes me glad I don't have any out-of-country travel plans, nor had any trips. My computer is all I need, thank you very much.
This is the real true story of rock and roll; it was not about anything more then, how to live your life, as a gangster, in sartorial splendor, and turning the world into a place where normality would never return again...- Malcolm McLaren
lol. Fortress America is defninetly what's happening here. See, the problem is that things are taken so seriously that people do it just to break the law or have a little fun with things. Now that the stringent security is so hardwired into our brains, the American populace wouldn't do well if the law was downgraded a little bit. I went to Ireland to march in the St. Patrick's Day parade last march, and now, I'm glad I went then. It would be hard for me to wear my contacts through a whole 7 or 8 hour flight again. It hurts to sleep with them.

Paranoid? Whos' paranoid? *builds 10 foot high brick wall*
Here's a true, and slightly scary story about how paranoid America actually is: My neighbors built a house and sold it. (It was a nice house.) And the family that moved in tore it down and started their own. Brick house. Few first-floor windows. Eight-foot iron gate in the front, 15 foot high brick wall in the back. An extra 5 feet on to the top of their garage.
They have no yard, no grass. They have a basketball hoop, and that foam you see at playgrounds. They have no basketball! They don't say "Hi" to anyone even if someone says "Hi" in a friendly voice.
In short, they tore down a brand-new, nice looking house and built.... A mini-fortress.

That can acutally be normal for some people. For example where I live its rare to see people not live in mini fortresses. But then agian thats for real security issuses like theivery.

lol, I'm not going to try to quote, cause something is up with it and it isn't letting me copy paste correctly.
So, anyway, I have no clue how you would open up AA batteries on a plane, but it's just in case you "modified them in some way." And it usually isn't too normal in the states to build and rebuild mini-fortresses unless it is for some reason. But if Virus lives in a relatively safe neihborhood, I see no reason why that would happen. If he lived in the bad side of a large city, then maybe. Anyway, I hope that you have fun on your trip.
