Wondering if such a faction excists...

Currently I`m a bounty hunter. But I find myself lacking action because of all the rules that are in effect against BH-ers. so now I`m wondering: is there a lawfull faction that isn`t bound to just house space ?

like some sort of sirius-wide police? I`m getting a wee bit tired of not being able to use my BC because of all the restrictions.

I love a good capship fight so I`m looking for a faction where you can fly a BS without having to fill in 600 forms and play for 5 years before you can fly one.

This is the exact reason we don't have a Sirius-wide police faction. You don't need to fly your BC around slaughtering pirates, that's not the job of the BHG Capitals. If you want to use your BC, go fight the Order. They are the main enemy of the BHG Core.

I just do the roleplay. If you cant do that, please dont spoil this server with abusive pvp and leave.

OK, lets try this without the smoldering sentiment.

Dasheill, you've probably picked the worst combination to play at this time on the server. There are a huge amount of restrictions currently placed on the BHG players because of problems (whether real or blown out of proportion) caused in the past.

Also, FYI, starting with the new mod version, you will NOT be able to fly your capital ship without a Guild Core ID and then only in the Omicrons. This is meant to confront some of the very same "problems" as stated above. Please keep this in mind as you fly any capital ship, that with the new mod version, you will have to have a Guard tag and ID to be able to fly any capital ship past Gunboat.

No, there is no Sirius wide police. They're bound to Houses for a reason. Mainly because most houses have their own ruleset, and consequently most have their own police force. There have been (many) attempts in the past to create a Sirius-wide force, but have all been shot down by both community and ADMINS.

What you will find is a lot of restrictions on most houses capital ships. If you do a search on the forums, you'll see several threads about ship licensing/registration for most of the major houses (6). I'm really not going to comment on the reasoning, because I'm not in on it really, but everyone has their reasons for everything.

In short, there really are no options open for you to do what you are asking to do. One option, as said before, is to join the Strontium Dogs. They're a pretty well respected BHG faction, flying all fighters and i think a couple gunboats, which would give you the opportunity to fly your fighter, and probably learn a bomber. As for your cap...I'd find my way to the Omicrons and start doing some RP with Order and/or Corsairs. There are several Zoner bases out thatta way you can dock on to be able to stay out there.

Unfortunately, the above posters nailed it on the head.

There has been massive abuse of the BH cap ships in the past, and it continues in many forms today. The reasoning behind the whole bounty restriction, as well as the lock on unauthorized BH caps in house space is because there have been many, MANY incidents where Hunters would simply camp unlawful stations or charge into roleplayed fights and blast at everything red.

As a Junker I have to say that Yanagi is ground zero for this nonsense, it being a central launch point for pirates and being in scanner range of the most abused trade route for oorp powertraders. I don't know how often I've undocked only to get blasted by two BCs without a word of roleplay, or anything besides 'ur ded leave sys now'.


It still continues today, as I said. Just yesterday the GMG and myself (as a Junker) had an incident with a certain import faction that flits about in Bounty Hunter Battlecruisers. They interrupted roleplay in progress to shoot at a solitary unbountied Outcast gunboat, browbeat the GMG for not killing every Corsair and Outcast in sight, and then got into a firefight with said GMG pilots after a heated argument broke out.

It's unfortunate as no other faction takes so much crap as Bounty Hunters, but no other faction has had so many who just abuse the tag as an excuse to go blow up every red-HUD player in the biggest ship they're willing to powertrade for.
