I was thinking and i figured this:

Zoners have the run of the edge worlds, making huge profits off of both their discoveries and their complex trading connections, along with their freeports.

I figured that another group of people would realize this and try to start making some cash off of the routes and territory that the zoners use and inhabit. But not a simple partnership, more like trying to steal the resources away and attempting to monopolize the areas....trying to drive them out of buisness as it were

the only reason i thought i should post this was that the zoners basically have it made, they have no real deticated enemies to deal with

>to sum it up.... greedy corperation or group moves into the zoners turf and tries to take some of their buiness away, if not all

i mean .... if one company started making a hugely successful product, how long would it take for another group to try and sell the same thing?

actually...thinking about it, this sounds like a good job for the largest and most rapidly expanding company in Sirius, Samura Industries (also rivals with Kishiro, who have many Zoner and GMG ties)...and they have already started to expand out farther (operations in the edge nebula clouds, in one of the sigma systems)

not saying that they should do it but.... who knows?

the only faction that really opposes the zoners economically is the IMG, and the two groups 'mine' different materials so there's no competition between them at this point. Zoners get deuterium, IMG mines metals and heavy elements.

Other than that, the zoners' primary enemies are nomads, phantoms, and the wild.

phantoms are enemies of the houses - not of the zoners. phantoms have even been seen docking with freeports - which they wouldn t dare if they considered the zoners to be enemies.

about enemies of the zoners - it won t work, the whole faction is meant not to have enemies. - thats the primary characteristic of the zoner faction.... give them enemies and they ll turn into a faction with a large ZoI and a powerful fleet - sounds familiar?
