Recently, i have been working on a small project. The project is a Bounty Hunter faction.
Now, i'm sure at least some people remember that i did try to make a Bounty Hunter faction sometime ago, entiled "The Bounty Hunter Legion", which did not go so well. This time will not be that case. This Bounty Hunter faction shall be a heavy role-playing faction. No oorp in system chat at all, no oorp in private chat, and oorp chat in group will be symbolised with //, but sometimes we might just switch completely to oorp in group chat and forget about the //.
I have written up a proposal sheet, and hopefully it is good.
The reason i have not posted this in the faction proposal forum is because i want to refine and fine tune it first, so that when it reaches the proposal page (if it ever does) it will basicly be ready. And also i won't have to waste 500mil for it to get denied.
Quote:The Story of the Bounty Hunter Raiders
Ever since the first civilised humans crawled out from under the rock, there has been a need for Bounty Hunters. In Rome, the Roman Empire used Bounty Hunters against other empires. Tribes in Africa used Bounty Hunters against other tribes, hoping to steal their land. In the middle ages, if people didnt pay tax, or chose to attempt a rebellion, Bounty Hunters were sent in to clean up the mess. On 21st century Earth, Bounty Hunters were used by both police and criminal organisations to hunt down their enemies and kill them without asking questions, if the price was right of course. The reason they were so good was because if the police used them, then nobody knew, and it could be denied by the government. Even today in the Sirius Sector, Bounty Hunters are a massive organisation, very rich and very powerful. The only thing that has changed is that they only work for lawfuls now. Most Bounty Hunters were originally pirates, who were caught and spent time in prison, and then decided to become a Bounty Hunter to become safe. But some are ex-military. Some are from all four houses, their militaries or navies or armed forces. They were the best of the best, until they decided the life of a military man/woman was not the right life for them. They decided to look for more money, more glory, more power. The best and the bravest of these men and women make up the Bounty Hunter Raiders.
When the Bounty Hunters Guild was first started on Planet Houston, the original people who started it knew that sooner or later, the pirates would be sick and tired of being hunted. That they would strike back against the Bounty Hunters in full force, and rid them from the Sirius Sector once and for all. They devised a plan, a way that if the pirates did attempt to destroy them, then they would be prepared. A small group was established, separated from the official guild, but still a part of it. This group would have its own council, its own way of life, and its own choice of members. The leaders were chosen out, and they decided that they did not want ex-pirates in their group. Anybody who once worked for who they hate did not deserve the honour of being within The Raiders. The only people who were chosen were the best and the brightest ex-military soldiers. These men and women were experienced, they were professional, and they were deadly.
Over the years, this organisation has grown into a larger and more powerful organisation then the leaders ever thought it would become. The only people who join are still the best ex-military men and women the Bounty Hunters have ever seen. They have however become more like their other Hunters now. The Bounty Hunters Guild has seen now that if the pirates would attack them, they were powerful enough to defend themselves. The Raiders were told to become like them, to become a normal Bounty Hunter group. But they were more then that. If they heard a bounty was out for the pirates, then they would bring their full force to complete it, if it meant destroying one more pirate. These Bounty Hunters are made up out of the best the Guild could find, and they have a purpose, stop the pirates before the pirates stop them.

Why?... You could just join S/D, and you don't even need to try hard to make it a "heavy roleplay faction," because it already is. Why is it that everyone wants their own faction?... Fact is, RP is not what you're going for, but leading a faction.

I'd also agree with Eta.. Help boost the member count of already-existing RP factions rather than making your own. That being said, the rank 'Sergeant' doesn't go with the rest of your ranks, nor does Colonel. Those are army ranks, while the rest of yours are Navy.
he he told you about that sheppard. but let me get this straight. he does NOT want to join the S/D so stop suggesting he does. also the S/D opperate in house systems, we opperate in the border worlds. we are aiming to be a unique faction that does heavy RP. as goodas S/D are, lets keep them out of discussion.

Interesting comment, but i was expecting it eventually.
The reason i want to start this faction is because i don't see many bounty hunters online. I don't see many S/D, infact i see more [Core] nowadays then i see S/D (i'm sure they are active online later on when i'm not online, but i never see that).
I want to be a part of a good role-playing faction, i enjoy role-playing actually. I want to be a part of a faction where we role-play properly. And i think i would also be able to lead a faction, and this council relieves all of the stress of leading a faction, joint leadership. Each vote in the council is equal, nobody is more powerful then another in the council, what is voted goes, whether i would want it or not. So really i'm not much of a leader, the 5 people who make up the council lead the faction together.
Edit: Just seen Dab's post. The reason i don't join S/D is because i'm one person. One person can not change the activity of a faction, and if i went online i'd pretty much be alone, and then any bounties i attempted i would be destroyed in the most grusome way.
Also about the ranks, because they are coming from all of the house militaries the ranks have been mixed so they are all represented. Also Adict here really wanted Admiral for some reason... i originally wanted Grand Commander but doesn't matter.

Apologies for not being able to read his mind. That being said... join the Core, if S/D's not really your cup of tea.

I still think you should join an already existing faction. What I see here is just another Bounty Hunter faction, different only in that it mainly operates outside of the Houses, and it's lead by a Council of five. Two differences are not enough, in my opinion
Oh and... your "offer" of, and I quote: "No oorp in system chat at all, no oorp in private chat, and oorp chat in group will be symbolised with //", is in fact not an offer you can make when you create a faction, but a requirement.
EDIT: Oh, Adict is an Admiral?... Well, lad, you see, that changes everything...

A single member can change the entire faction.. It simply depends how much effort they put out. A low recruit can effect a faction almost as much as the leader if he commits himself to it.
Also, why represent all the ranks? By doing such, those ranks don't fit each other.. Go all Navy. Fleets in space are used the same as those on the ocean. They are naval forces.
