Did anyone try to play disco on limited internet? How much does it eat? Like, for example how much transfer does 1h of playing consume? (Provided that skype and all other stuff is offline).

Thanks in advance Smile

Disco is showing really good if you're having a limited internet. I am using Skype, TS, Forum and I am in-game so it uses like 10 Kbps sometimes it goes to 50 which is nothing really. Your worst nightmare would be You Tube videos, Facebook and web pages like Star Citizen with lots of content.

Also how much is your limit by the way?

Well, I've got unlimited net for now, but I will most likely have limited the next year as I'll start studying. It should be 6gb / month, as it's currently the highest limited net availble for my mobile phone. Well, I've been using facebook on phone and it doesn't consume a lot of data, chrome and youtube do tho. Maybe a bit more than 6gb, but i'd need to look a bit more into it. For now lets say, it'll be 6gb

I used to play through a VPN for a while (when the server route was painfully bad) and never used more than 500Mb per month.

Yup, it uses little to no data. Question is, how high your ping will be, if you use a mobile's net.

I sometimes play using my cellular telephones wifi hotspot at both LTE and 4G speeds, fighter interactions place me at a disadvantage but i can run trade routes with no issues.

Alright, so I've tested my mobile phone's internet and here are the results: (USB tethering)

10 minutes of playing Freelancer - a short trip within one system, jumping to conn and typing a few messages - ate 1,04 mb

Ping isn't that much higher, fluct is a bit, but ping is more or less fine. Not the most comfortable for PvPing, but more than enough for regular playing.

Mobile phone's internet: 1 ; 2 ;
Regular unlimited cable internet: 1 ;

So yeah, I'm happy enough with it.

Well, yeah, unlimited one is way better. But if I'm out of home for 5 days out of 7 per week, it'd be pointless to keep the unlimited one, as noone apart from me is using the pc.
