Hello there fellow pilot, i hope your day was good.

I've ben off from Disco and Freelancer in general for a long long time. Now i plan to return for some fun. Nothing big, probably as a researcher/adveturer tipe guy. But i need them haplz.

Any good ship for such thing. I tought about the Corvo but i dont want to be a zoner really. Probably go with freelancer. But is there anything for them? The Corvo would be good, it has the look of a armed family ship but that big radiodishsomething under it just gives enough science tuch so it looks decent. But i'm open for other ideas too.

The other thing. How populated the server is? Any major rule changed?

Any advice is welcomed, Thanks for looking by.

Edit: on the second tought, the civ gb can be a nice alternative for the beginning.

Last I can recall the Corvo is probably the best bet in looks and size if you were to go for such a huge ship. Nothing bad about it for the role you're trying to seek either. Sadly I ain't much for suggestions as my selection of ships is very low currently until I get my income up and running. So there's that.

As for population, it tends to be around a solid 80-100 in most days at peak times, weekends possibly over 100 depending on events and people. Lowest it dips to is a bit above 20 from what I can recall at the quieter hours. Though obviously those numbers can heavily change indiscriminately.

While I don't think there has been a major rule changed in itself, the whole rule set got a revision so you might want to check it out before heading out again just for safe measure. But as for that, I have nothing else to offer as of now.

Happy flyin'

[EDIT; On a quick second thought, the Ahoudori Kusari Explorer or Spatial can be an alternative if you wish to go for a lower price tag initially.]

If you are going to be trying to explore as many places as possible, I would seriously consider Zoner rep...

At any rate, if you are trying to start out small, I second the Spatial. It's a good, robust ship with lots of potential. The wiki is seriously outdated, btw.

Keep in mind while outfitting your ship that your powercore will get nerfed if you have tech that doesn't match your faction ID.

I would third the Spatial. The only problem with choosing a Corvo is combat capabilities. Apparently a few updates ago it was a literal cruiser, but now it is armed with only five badly-arced gunboat turrets. Don't expect to be able to defend yourself against pirates and the likes.

The Corvo was turned in to a frigate. Its got a cruiser shield with 5 Gunboat guns and a cruiser power core. It can defend its self quite nicely if you know how to use it. It's also the second biggest ship you can get on the FL ID, so if you don't want to be a Zoner, there's nothing stopping you from getting one except cost.

Civilians and Explorers can rock with the Montante, the Condor and the Corvo - the Corvo is great since it has more focus on cargo and defensive capabilities than the other gunboats while being able to use a battleship cloak (15 minutes cloak!) and it has a cruiser shield. While the Montante looks better than the Condor, the Condor has better arcs. You can use all three of them as Freelancer.

If you want something smaller, you could use the Osprey or the new OSC ships, an SHF or the Freighter/Ferry, as they look great. The SHF is even useful in combat.

If you want something bigger, try the Platypus Bustard. It's battle capabilities aren't very well, as it's a civilian carrier. I use it as a mobile base for one of my alts.

Or just roll with a Voyager or a Serenity.

Awesome, and thanks for the Spatial, i almost forgot about that nice, lovely looking hunk of junk. Right now i just need something that can act as a house/ship for me. No need for big cargo, i do wanna start out small. One more thing that came to my mind, as i remember, there is a still somewhat intact sleepership in the main Outcast sector, that would be a really good starting point for me. But is it possible to find still functioning cryopods (or what are those) on it?

My story in short: The guy i play is from Earth, he bught his life with everything he had back then to have a place on the Hispania. The ship ended up in space, and not much happend with it for long decades. The Outcast finally got off from Malta, found their way to the core sectors, and now there is a somewhat mapped out route right to their home. One day a cruiser had a fast skirmrish against a bountyhunter gunboat. The hunter ended up as a debri in no time, but the Hispania took a few hits, a small explosion marked their place. A few fighter sized parts fell off and as the cruiser jumped out of the system to look for traders the warpfield (no idea again how it is called in FL) sucked in the small amounts of surrounding debri. One contained the cryopod of our hero. As they came out somewhere in the middle of a debrifield the pod floated away and a few seconds later colliedeid with a long derelict ship. (Probably a Spatial then) As the pods lifesupport failed due to the collosion, the emergency signal kicked in. A junker who was around found him, picked up his pod, and tugged the ship to the nearby station. In exchange for the cargo and weapons they patched up and gave the ship to him, with some food too. Now he's spending his days mostly hunting junk in the debrie fields of Manhattan and sells it to the Junkers to get some credits for further upgrades and repairs.

This is the only idea right know i had for a character that is a actuall noone. So he starts out as a Junker, and works his way to become a freelancer. He has to learn the ways of Sirius, before going out for a bigger journey. This can be the best way i think for me to rejoin the community again.

Edit: So....now there is a whole lot of civilian/freelancer ships. Lovely, now i just have to see them.

Researcher adventurer you say? Hm. I might have something to offer you something. I'm currently building a base, one of it's purposes is a semi-secret research, probably of Jump Holes. I'M not the guy doing the research RP, i'm the investor, but the other guy might like to have someone to RP with. Just give it a thought Smile
