Following the removal of nanobots and respective hull buff on all battleships, we'd like to get an input from the community if you agree or disagree with the changes and whether or not we should apply them to cruisers and battlecruisers as well, or revert them.

I find the concept of regens to be stupid entirely. How can you just magically stick in a few shield batteries and boom, shield back up instantly? They might as well just be an extension of your health, that's all they do.

Same with nanobots. Instant repair in the palm of your hands!

Honestly? Keep it on BS's. It disallowed any caps from practically being insta'd.

As for BCs & cruisers, they should keep the regens personally. Mainly due to allowing regen collection, or letting bigger caps having the ability to more or less insta them.

Freelancer nanobots make little sense.
In reality a few high tech nanobots + enough material (debris, asteriods, etc.) are sufficient for almost insta repair of ship hulls. Nanobots would even make a lethal, unstoppable weapon.
So much to "how unlogical nanobots are". They are capable of far more.

Now to the changes. I would like to stick with the removal for Battleships only. Gives this ship class something cool and unique. It could be made for Cruisers too but then you could remove them from all "over GB size" ships too. It isn't really making a difference and except for Battleships insta-repair does make sense in my eyes. (This is limited by how serious one can take FL mechanics)

After some deep thinking the only way these could be used practically is like dropped health packs. You kill someone, tractor regens, and heal yourself.

Otherwise, I keep my other point. Regens are 90 PERCENT stupid.

It is a gameplay question rather than sense searching... I think.

I am not making ships for FL anymore, I am making my own space game instead:

Cap ships were entering the weirdest fights (4 dreads vs 1 pirate VHF) - now they seem to have realized that a bomber ambush may very well end them in a matter of seconds. I like the change.

I'd say keep the bots/bats on snubs, it seems logical they'd be able to do "quick repairs", but caps should fight even more tactically. And making them lose things when they die would be the icing on the cake - losing a capship should HURT a faction. Not just be shrugged off. Plus - presto! Money sink!

Aaaanyway, Battleships are too large to be maintained by a few nanos. Plus - the repair ships might finally see some use. What I am trying to say: "Dont like it the consequences of losing that battleship? Dont go after snubs with carriers and dreads. You might get ambushed."

Just my thoughts (sun)

Keep the changes as are. Cruisers and Battlecruisers shouldn't be changed, as it'd throw off balance a lot.

If we are talking logic here, nanobots should be able to repair a ship no matter the size, but of course bigger ships would take time. So is there a way to have nanobots repair over time? So you can't just insta repair a BS whilst in fight, but you would have to pull out to the side and let your nanos do work. Maybe we could even have items that would make them work faster, better parts etc.

If we are talking gameplay then leave it as it is.
