You may want to rethink that Dark. He is in a slipstream and is a superior light fighter pilot, i think perhaps you were unable to keep him from running circles around you.
LFs aren't that agile, I know for a fact (from personal experiance) that a viper can out turn a sabre which can pretty much hold it's own against an eagle.

Couple of questions:-
1) Was he continually thrusting?
2) If so, how long was he able to thrust for?
3) Did you get a scan/screenie of his equipment?

1A) He was thrusting in short bursts, I personally believe that he modded both his ships manuvering stats aswell as his thrusters to output maxmium speed. I was engine killed at just under 200ms, going in a straight line and he was able to circle my ship repeatedly, going FASTER than the 200ms top speed with thrusters.
He was also circling my ship so fast that I could not keep him on my screen, pivoting in TURRET VIEW, which I'm sure everyone here knows doesn't depend on your ships manuverability.
2A) ^Above
3A) I scanned his equipment, it was all normal loadout for a fighter of that class which leads me to believe it was not administration granted equipment (Duh lol) and was infact a client side modification.
Reason I Am at this conclusion:
When I played Evolutions and I was setting up a viper for the gameplay in that mod, I modded that same fighter (Uses a different name in Evolutions) to have the manuvering statistics of the fantasy viper and had the administrators fight me with it and judge what to do to balance it.
I've done alot of modding in the past and I am 1,000% certain that his ship was modified at the time I spotted him.
Why else would he follow me and run circles around me then run off? Modders like to show off.

Korrd or I would have to catch them red-handed.

I would have evidence, but unfortunately freelancer doesn't have a hud element to moniter target speeds.
And also, I fought an un-modded slipstream today, and it doesn't even manuver HALF as good as 003's Slipstream. The player I fought was Bob_Sinclair.

Also as for proof, screenshots can not "prove" he was speed modding, I can't get freelancer to do exact timestamps to moniter the time between shots to prove the distance he could cover.
The only way to "Prove" it is to capture a video that shows him circling me at that rapid pace.

I don't want this guy to be permanantly banned, he was probly just jacking around (considering he didn't try to kill me)
But modding of that degree deserves atleast a 1 week temporary ban. And it bugs me that you can't trust your server patrons when it comes to reporting a modder. This isn't some incident where "He killed me! He must be modding!"
Infact I Killed him while he was autodocking with the Alaska jumpgate in Connecticut.
So I can assure you, I am not being alitle crybaby because I was killed, he didn't even fire on me.

I guess we can make a case for dock raping here... I'm joking, if he did that to me I'd wait until he docked with something too, only way to make sure he sits still long enough to die.
The server messages do state that using ANY mods with discovery is a bannable offence.
So if he modded his ship the way you suggested then that would be a mod, right?
Plus as he hasn't even bothered to reply, probably hasn't even registered, he's obivously not interested in playing fair or RPing.
If he was orbiting dark's ship horizontally while dark was going at max thrust then he was speed modding. because he needs to go faster than 200 m/s to keep his orbit.
Or, the lag took another victim..
Yesterday night, i thought NPC where speed modding. They were really hell of fast and maneuverable, because of the lag causing their trajectories not being updated. So the game kept acceleration and trajectory values. They were sometimes goin as fast as 10 m/s in front of me, and then appearing 2k behind me... O_o...
We are currently working on a set of tools to detect anomalies on mod installation client side. Soon we will be able to detect cheaters, modders and other non allowed stuff.
