I reskin ships. You can request a reskin. A single reskin costs 300.000.000 Credits to unlock, a shipline reskin costs 1.000.000.000 to unlock. Unlocked items will be publicly downloadable in the spoilers below. You can use the reskins for SRPs (Unique Ship SRPs). If you use the reskins on your local installation of Discovery, you will be the only person to see your installed reskins - it is nice for your screenshots, though. Also, every ship of the same class will use the reskin.
Some ships use the same material file as others (mostly Vanilla ships, also Crayter, IMG, partially also the Core, etc). Ask for a certain ship you want to have reskinned and I will check whether the model shares the same materials with something else or not. The price solely depends on that. (As I have to make sure all ships using the mat file look good with the altered textures.)
Rename the file to corona.mat! Also, for some weird reason, all Core ships use the file, so if you alter it, all Core shipline ships will use those textures. Looks okay with some of them, though.
The Sokol Reskins switches the brown/orange-ish Legate to a dark warship with red highlights (windows). The normal hull patterns have been made very black-ish, however you will still see the patterns on the hull if you aren't in a dark system. The hangars are using the same texture as the weapon plates do, so altering them caused the hangars to have the same alteration. It works well with the side hangars but not too well with the lower hangar.
The GMG Gunship is one hell of a nice design, and Swallow did a great job on it. However, people that play the game with bloom mod might get a little annoyed of their white gunship blooming like hell all the time. Yes, hell is blooming. So I decided to give the ship a black/dark blue-ish reskin, and I think it works really nice with the Bishamon.
If there is any ship out there that yells for different reskins, then it is definitely the Arrow, a ship made for racing, or annoying people with CDs. You know what the Arrow is also good for? Definitely not getting good sceenshots of it in turret view because of a weirdly stupid placed camera point.
The Razor Edge Skin turns the Arrow into a very dark ship with very red highlights that actually work really nice with the way Freelancer lights/shades models. One thing that kind of annoys me is that a major part of the model's texture uses a low-res picture, you can see that in the screenshots. The texture with the red lines is okay, but the arrow-shaped section is somewhat pixelated. The black texture however doesn't show it too well, though, which is good, as the red lines are the eye candy. I think about making multiple versions of this with blue, purple, green, yellow and orange lines, as well as a rainbow skittle version for a certain arrow called Light.Beam.
What always bugged me about the Conference was the very junker-ish look of it. It looks high-tech, but also like patchworking, because the normal Conference uses some weird rheinlandish hull platings. So I made them black, and the rest white, with a little bit of blue in the white. It looks now like the ship has an exo-skeleton.
Corvo in black, with solar panels and windows replaced with one very long blue-ish window/tube. Was supposed to be a test for the Hoffnungsschimmer, however we later decided to style it more OS&C-ish.
A quick skin I made for the Bustard for the OSI mission with Kaze. It's not perfect, as the hangar bays are just black with red lines around it, but here it is anyway. ;3
Darius requested a Naval Blue LABC Reskin, and as I played around with different textures and created new ones, I came to the conclusion this here looks pretty badass, featuring glowing shield barriers, new windows, darker textures and more awesomeness in general.
Since the Apahanta can't visit most places, the Captain invested into remote-controlled drones. One of the four currently used drones is the Handsome Rover, a modified Gitano-class Light Fighter. While not able to deal much damage, it is good for scouting and disrupting projectiles. Since it was modified with AP technology of the Apahanta, it looks now that way.
I'll add the LABC, Sabre, Guardian, Nyx and Arbeiter to the To-Do-List. If you can be more specific about the colors you would like to see, that would be good.
On a side note: The way I do the reskins is simply create custom textures that get replaced by already present ones. That means I can't really alter the layout of the textures. That means the areas for the textures are pre-set and I can't alter them. What I can do is replace the textures, make HD textures and can alter them to be glowmaps - so they always shine, like windows for example.
