So since late 2012, I have almost always had this avatar (which would sometimes change color for holiday themes):

Which I changed for Kirk Douglas' 100th birthday to this scene from Spartacus:

And after a few weeks with that, I felt compelled to try something else:

But right now I'm thinking of changing it again, perhaps back to the lights or maybe something crazier like this.

I wanted to actually do this a week ago on my birthday, yet life was really busy. However, I still feel that it might be appropriate to get input on what people think might be a good avatar. Should I keep the ninja, revert to the old lights, put Spartacus back on, or try something new?

"You see what your knowledge tells you you're seeing. ... how, what you think the universe is, and how you react to that in everything you do, depends on what you know. And when that knowledge changes, for you, the universe changes. And that is as true for the whole of society as that is for the individual. We all are what we know, today. What we knew yesterday, was different; and so were we."
- James Burke, The Day the Universe Changed (1985)

I wanted to tell you this for some time now: Ninja is awesome!
Its funny, while not being too agresive to eyes when reading posts.

But if you go for "crazy", I will use Adblock to block that image, like for many others.

Still, I think animated avatars/signatures are a bad thing in general.

I always liked the old lights. Then again, change can be refreshing, so I'd say go with the one you prefer.

I think we should all use the spartacus avatar. Like, everyone on the forum.

If you use gifs, generally keep them simple
Avatars with connection to username are best
