i think there is currently no "real" blood dragon faction that follows the original lore of the BDs and has kusari origins. ( novaPG are hessians ) - the HG was meant to be "the" BD i think - but yes... they haven t been around too much lately.
establishing a true BD faction can be difficult though. - cause of the RPs that intermingle... when the novapg are the "guards" ( which means as much as the core of the faction ) - it also means that the core is now ex-hessian.
those that own the guard faction usually set certain "standards" for a faction as a whole ( although its somewhat messed up in some ways )
i d suggest to contact the novaPG leaders to discuss how an original BD faction could look like and be set up before rushing into things.

merged? - first they split away from them - now they merge again? - thats a bit confusing...
from what i remember - they separated from the old novaPG, cause they felt like it was time to make a more "generic and original" BD faction, cause the lore of the nova PG was always some sort of "in the way" of being a TRUE BD faction.
if they merged again - they face the same dilemma like before - only they wasted a lot of money splitting from it before ( and faced unnecessary trouble )
They merged well over two months ago.. Several people have been reminded that on the forums several times over, in addition to the official announcement, so I'm wondering how people can't remember something that simple. Especially considering that the HG tag has not been used since. 'Not seen them recently' indeed..
NovaPG is much more generic-BD than they used to be. Furthermore, both factions lost quite a few members, so the merger was needed for membership issues, and because HG were having more political problems than NovaPG ever did. (Ignoring the incident with the OC..)
hmm thats good information so we can setup a official BD faction....and create problem for lawful......anyone interested in creating official bd Faction I am ready to help......i dont want such a important faction in freelancer to be ignored
Hey go check the wiki site for more information about the Official factions and un-official factions or check the pinned topic in this section for the un-official ones.
There seems to be [BD] already (I've seen them too in space also) so you can pool your strength perhaps with them and try to make an official Bloodie faction.

There is a work in progress to organize things up - It will be very interesting for character development and lot's of RP opportunities. Do you want to grow from a farmer to a battleship commander? There will be a chance for all.
