Is Dublin Miners Pub good for the game?

Dublin Miners Pub was set up as a proof of concept. Initially it was to enable solo players, particularly in the time zones that do not have many players on, to mine effectively without breaking the server rules. (Multiboxing etc).

It has become a very real hive of activity and encourages really good RP. It is totally different than any other POB. One of the best RP situations going.

1. It is for miners and support transporters
2. It is a FREEPUB, meaning it is not affiliated with any faction and open to anyone.
3. It is an excellent way to encourage new players and help them bed into the game.
4. It makes no money. The ore can be bought for what it was sold to the base for. 1900 Sirius Credits.
5. Miners can sell it to the pub for 1900 credits or dock and switch to their transport and tractor the ore in from where they dropped it.
6. It is demilitarised and docking of military ships other than inspections of the base are not allowed.

Facts:

1. Over 12 Factions have asked for docking rights, including the majority of Bretonian mining co's.
2. Over 40 individual players/ships have pm'd me or hailed me in-game to be able to dock there
3. RP has increased.
4. Various people have volunteered, some anonymously, to supply the base with FOW and RA

It will be destroyed, but I want to know if it is worthwhile rebuilding it in an approved place.

This has two aspects;

in Roleplay

Out of Roleplay

In Roleplay your pub is detrimental to corporations such as BMF who mine the field. Your pub allows for independent miners to make easier use of the field and for traders to buy ore at a reduced price. InRP.. we will crush you Paddy!!

Out of Roleplay hell yeah it's a good thing.. It's hard as hell mining on your own...

and to my conclusion: I like mining because, unlike most other 'jobs' in disco, it is essential to co-operate with others to make it a successful venture. this inspires interactions as bigger groups in the mining fields give the pirates something to get their teeth into and in return, the house military/police to counteract. This is something we see all the time in Dublin especially, where your pub is (was)

Just do it right next time. Mindlessly placing PoBs is always a bad idea. I know it is very tempting to build PoBs, as they give you a sense of constant progression, but doing it for the sake of having a PoB is not worth the invested time and money. If you want a roleplay platform, just go for a Freelancer Bustard. Can be used in Bretonia and Liberty without law issues, doesn't die for good unless you want so and people will see it when you're logged instead of having just another PoB that is nice to look at but nothing more than that.

As one of the players affected by this, it's actually a question of "What's stopping your bases from becoming Reutlingen 2.0"?

Historical reference: Reutlingen was a base operated by Kruger that placed Defense Modules in such a way that their miners were perfectly safe and furthermore fired on various independent miners. Wesker chastised them seriously.

Look I personally hate maintaining POBs. But it sounds like you knew what you wanted and set up shop then tried to Rp it. Most of the old guard around here like all your ducks in a row and if they arent then you get stomped til they are. You seem keen as on your pub and from what I've read of yours the rp is pretty cool so keep at it.

Just dont take the bpa personally, set up your base after clearing all the house rules. Then you can enjoy your POB and Rp up a storm you lil irish bird.

I know its hard to find the motivation to push ahead after something like this but just keep at it trust me.

Can I also say that I've noticed you put ooRP stuff in your base's name like (PM Paddy for docking rights) or some garbage.

I think I can comfortably speak for the entire community when I say please do not do that.
