yeah yeah, another anoying post about some char advices/questions :$
I had got an idea for a new char of mine, just trading getting bit boring now and then, you know.
First a little unshaped sketch for you to know what's all about:
A young, propable about 16 years i think would fit well, guy, kinda naive, dreamy, enthusiastic, in general you could call him more childish, than grown-up, in terms of behavior and thinking.
His great dream since childhood was to become a pirate, flying to the stars, doing whatever he wants, pew-pew everything, blah blah, the typical stuff kids think of beeing a pirate would be like, think you get it.
Now (don't yet know exactly how, cause I have not already figured out the hole background story for him), he managed to get a ship and is going to start his great journey.
Whatever, I think you can imagine what a totaly chaos and trouble he's getting in, of course unexpected and is soon to realise that all the pirate thingy isn't nearly what he had thought of it would be, especially not as half as dangerous :P
It's mainly more a fun rp-character I think than these standart old knew all can all veteran pirate and in no way meant to pvpwhore (of course the first time the char will blow anything, cause "it's cool" you know ^^, but strictly IC and just for NPCs. Hope one of you lawfulls can show him a bit what a pirate's life is really like by "hailing" him with some pew-pew to correct his false view ^^.)
So now my question, after that too long introduction:
Cause of the independence and none affiliation for a certain faction of the char, I thought of generel pirate-ID, but I'm not quiet sure about the proper IFF.
I think bundschuh or unioneers could fit well, cause I would like to have him his roots in Rheinland, but flying around where the stars and adventure takes him.
yep, thought off something like that or maybe hijacking some ship, not yet sure which ship I wanna choose, but very likely one of the nicer non vanilla LF or equal HF.
of course I will try to do my best to RP most inRP as possible, thus mostly blowing and pirating NPCs ... and horrible failing on players, to give them something to laugh of:lol:(and im not very sure how good my piloting/pvp skills are at the moment to be a real "threat", but i think that fits even better for a bloody rookie like him to think he's uber, just to realise he's not even a match to a sucking trader-pilot ^^)
So then I'll begin writing and figuring out the details for the story now *sigh*

For something Rheinlandic, I'd think Hessian or Unioner IFF would make the most sense. The Bundschuh are extremely political, which doesn't really sound fitting with the idea. I can imagine someone like that trying to meet and impress some angry Hessians/Unioners in a bar while bringing piratical havoc around, you know?

Yes, at first I thought of these two, too. Then I searched for a faction with less unlawful enemies, because of the chars naive ideology of a all-pirates-are-nice-to-all-other-pirates-family and such stupid stuff :P
But now I think that was to much "me" thinking about it, not the char, think your proposal of Hessians or Unioners fit better for him ... just to realise in Corsair space, that it's not all as happy as he thought.

Annnyyways.... I like the story. It is an interesting concept. You should expand on it a little bit tho... make it believable
Darker than black, nice anime, liked the ending and how the story went to it, had not expected that.

What exactly do you mean by "expand on it, make it believable"? Will try my best to get the most out of the idea as i can, I think there's very much leeway to experiment and for character improvement through the game.
I hope I don't ruin the nice concept with this much opertunities, the more I think of it and how all could go on, it seems not to be as easy to play as I first thought :unsure:
Have him try and run away from home hidden in some cargo compartment and then land in a freeport, or get caught while hiding in the cargo hold of that ship. Maybe he'll experience some hardships and then have some opportunity present itself for him to escape (another character helps him out or he manages it on his own). From then on a slightly different world unveils and he gets back the sense that anything can happen as long as he doesn't have anyone keeping him, which would enhance his need for freedom and to lose all strings. A thought.
I thought of some of those possabilities too.
But I think my worst problem is, I'm trying to make all to perfect, most ideas so far I considered after a while thinking about them just to "simple" and "boring", seems to be whole other piece of cake than a simple trader or even the bit more "advanced" corrupted one.
Nevertheless, the more time and thoughts I put in the better it will come out in the end ... at least I hope so xD
