As you’ve undoubtedly noticed, the current server event resulted in a GMG-Rheinland war. Do you want to participate, but not sure where to start? Look no further, you’ve found the right thread. The aim of this post is to inform interested players about the GMG (NPC Faction) side of the event.
Event summary
Fulda Border Station was attacked by The Wild, nomad-infected humans, this time posing as GMG. This attack pretty much destroyed the station and the jumpgate, with The Wild claiming responsibility on behalf of the GMG. Of course, GMG had nothing to do with the attack, and were framed. Denying responsibility and conducted investigation couldn’t prevent Rheinland from declaring war. There’s likely more behind the attack than just retaliation for Fulda, as it was commonly agreed that the circumstances around the attack were dodgy to say the least.
Nevertheless, war!
Now what?
We highly encourage you to participate on either side of the event, though we would of course prefer you’d join the GMG side You can join our Discord Server (link below) to get in touch with other GMG players. If you need a ship, but you can’t really afford a fighter or bomber, we’ll be happy to sponsor one, in exchange for active participation in both skirmishes as the occasional patrol report.
This war is about Rheinland invading the Sigma’s, not the GMG attacking Rheinland. When flying on your GMG ship, think about this. We’re only interested in keeping Rheinland out of area’s we don’t want them. This is mostly systems where we have bases, or clouds where their capitals will have a tough time.
While we're not going to dictate how you should play your GMG character (as that's entirely up to you!), we do have a few guidelines on how we're treating the Sigma region currently.
The primary goal is descalation. We don't want this war. Always give a Rheinland ship the chance to turn around before using violent measures.
Only fire when fired upon. We don't want this war, but we're not accepting a Rheinland invasion. If we're going to win the PR battle however, we need to show we're not the aggressors here.
Consider who GMG's allies are when it comes to the blockade. Kishiro is a close ally, and should not be killed for trading through the Sigma's
In addition to this, carefully read your GMG ID for rules what you can and cannot do.
